Chapter 281
When Darion arrived at the restaurant, he saw Thalia sitting alone at a table, quietly eating.
His tense, brooding expression instantly softened as he walked over to her and asked, “Weren’t you supposed to meet
someone?”
Thalia glanced at him. “How did you know?”
Darion pulled out the chair next to her and sat down. “There’s something off about Clinton. I had someone look into him, ind he’s been getting very close to the people at Blackburn Manor lately.”
Thalia calmly took a few sips of her soup, and once she was done, she set down her fork and looked at him with clear, steady
yes.
Your grandma sent Mrs. Elaine Ford to team up with Clinton to drug me and try to destroy my innocence,” she said, her voice steady. “Darion, what are you going to do about it?”
Darion’s expression turned grim. He scanned Thalia for any sign of trouble, concern flickering in his eyes. “How are you feeling now?”
I’m fine. It didn’t work on me,” Thalia replied, her voice calm and unshaken.
A cold, dangerous glint flashed in Darion’s eyes, his tone turning icy. “I’ll make sure you get justice.”
Thalia said, “I think I’ve figured out what your grandma’s up to. She’s all for us splitting up. Darion, if we don’t get divorced, she’ll never stop trying to mess with me. Can you really be by my side all the time to protect me?”
She gave a small, teasing smile. “Isn’t it tiring, having to look after two women at the same time?”
Darion’s expression turned even more grim. “Thalia, I won’t let her hurt you again.”
‘People’s hearts can be terrifying,” Thalia said softly. “If you really care about me, then let’s end this marriage. If we go our separate ways, the Blackburns will stop coming after me.”
Darion’s lips pressed into a thin line. He reached out and took her hand, his voice rough with emotion. “Thalia…”
Just then, a loud crash came from the lounge.
Darion’s brows furrowed. He immediately got up and strode over, opened the door, and the moment he saw what was inside, he turned away in disgust.
Clinton and Elaine Ford were caught in a messy heap on the floor.
He turned back to Thalia. “Thalia, how did you pull this off?”
‘Someone must have helped her. But who?
Was it Sebastian?
‘But why didn’t my people give me any updates?
What else is going on with her that I don’t know about?’ he thought
Thalia just shrugged. “Piece of cake. I’m not stupid, you know.”

Darion’s eyes grew even darker. She’s not telling the truth. She’s definitely keeping something from me, he thought
But now wasn’t the time to dig into it.
“Come back to Blackburn Manor with me,” he said, stepping closer and lowering his voice. “I’ll give you an explanation.”
Thalia arched an eyebrow, wondering what he’d actually do about it.
That was his own grandmother, after all.
