The servant, still rattled by what had just happened, finally came to her senses and hurried to help Sandra take her nedicine.

After a while, Sandra’s color improved a bit, but she still looked terrible.

Darion said, “Even if you faint, it won’t help. I mean what I say.”

He turned to the servant. “Get all of Sandra’s things packed up. We’re leaving the day after tomorrow.”

He had to sort out the family’s assets tomorrow, so he had to stay for now.

You damn bastard! Why wasn’t it you who died?” Sandra glared at Darion with absolute loathing. “Emely was such a good tid, but he just had terrible luck. If he were still alive, he would have been devoted to me, never defied me, never treated me ike this!”

Darion curled his lips into a cold smirk, his eyes growing even colder. “Unfortunately, Emely is dead.”

Oh, what a tragedy!” Sandra cried out.

she broke down in tears, glaring at Darion and Thalia with pure hatred as she pointed at them and started hurling insults.

Darion strode over to Thalia, firmly taking her hand. “Come on, let’s get out of here.”

Thalia watched the whole spectacle like she was at the theater. She yanked her hand back, her voice laced with biting arcasm. “Your grandma’s about to keel over from rage, and you still want to walk out with me?”

Darion locked his dark eyes on her. “Yeah, looks like I’m the one everyone’s going to hate now. Thalia, you can’t just abandon

ne.”

Thalia scoffed. “And what does any of this have to do with me? If we’re being real, I only got set up because of you. You think ust because you did all this, I’m supposed to forgive and forget?”

The gloom in Darion’s eyes grew even darker. “What else do you want?”

Thalia shot back. “A divorce.”

‘Not a chance, Darion said, his voice just as unyielding.

“Thalia, I’m never going to agree to that. Not in this life, not in the next.”

Thalia’s smile faded, and she turned on her heel, walking away without another word.

‘Seriously, this guy’s insane!’ Thalia thought, exasperated.

The Blackburn family was already in total chaos, and he still wouldn’t let her go.

‘Does he want everyone to blame me for this mess?’ Thalia fumed.

Ugh, this is driving me crazy!’ she thought, feeling completely fed up.

The cool breeze outside cleared Thalia’s mind a bit. Hearing footsteps behind her, she spoke in a calm voice, “It doesn’t matter if you disagree. The court hearing is coming up soon.”

Her eyes drifted to the cobblestone path nearby, and she let out a small laugh. “Back then, when I was forced to kneel right here, you were watching. What was going through your mind?”

And now he was suddenly acting like he loved her.

Thalia couldn’t help but find it ridiculous.

Thalia… Darion’s gaze was dark and heavy as he looked at her, his voice coming out a little hoarse. “I’m sorry.”

It doesn’t matter anymore.” Thalia replied softly. “Back when I loved you, I’d make a fuss, always pushing for an answer, needing you to show me you cared. But now that I don’t love you anymore, none of that means anything to me.”

she strode out, and by the time she reached the gate, another car had appeared there. Who knows when it showed up.

nside sat a big, burly man. He gave Darion a once-over, then scoffed.

He didn’t say a word, but his silence said it all.
