Dax nodded. “Yeah, those two were total pushovers. I took care of them without even trying
Listening to Dax’s hearty laughter, Thalia couldn’t help but smile along. In moments like this, she genuinely felt that no one could easily bully her anymore.
The two bodyguards, faces battered and bruised, shuffled up to Darion, not daring to say a single word.
Darion pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and fixed them with an icy, indifferent stare.
The tension in the air was palpable. The bodyguards bowed their heads and muttered, “Mrs. Blackburn’s driver caught us. We didn’t even have time to react before…”
Darion said, “You can go.”
The bodyguards were thrilled. Darion wasn’t going to punish them!
They hurried out, still limping as they made their escape.
Darion stared in the direction where the car had vanished. Thalia suddenly had someone truly formidable by her side.
‘How is it that I’ve never heard of someone that skilled before?’ Darion thought to himself.
He pulled out his phone and made a call. As soon as the other end picked up, he asked, “Did you handle what I asked you to do?”
“Yeah, it’s done,” the guy replied lazily. “He’s already in Oakwood. By now, he should’ve gotten in touch with your wife, right?”
Darion said coolly, “I want to meet him.”
“Oh? What’s that supposed to mean? You don’t trust me?” The guy’s tone was casual and a bit cocky. “If you don’t trust me, then don’t bother using him.”
But Darion replied, “I might’ve already met him, but I need to make sure.”
“Huh?” The guy was clearly caught off guard, then chuckled. “Interesting. Alright, I’ll send you his info. You can reach out to him yourself.”
“Okay.” Darion replied.
Darion hung up, finished his cigarette, and his phone buzzed. The guy had sent over the info.
When he saw the rugged face in the photo, his eyes narrowed.
It was Dax.
Just as I thought, Darion mused.
A faint smirk tugged at his lips, and he deleted the message.

The next day. Ryan showed up with a stack of documents, looking all respectful. “Mrs. Blackburn, these are the papers Mr. Blackburn asked you to sign. If everything looks good, you can just sign them and they’ll take effect right away.
Thalia took the contracts and glanced through them. ‘Holy crap, these are properties all over Oakwood, wineries, hot spring resorts… she thought.
There was also a massive fund.
The stack was thick, almost rivaling the pile Diana had given her.
Did Sandra really own this much?
And what about the Blackburn family’s total assets?
Who would’ve thought?’ she thought, still in shock.
tyan said. “All of this is meant as compensation for you. Mr. Blackburn said if you don’t want it, he’ll just donate everything o a charity foundation.”
Thalia raised an eyebrow and said, “Go ahead and donate all of it.”
tyan nodded. “Alright.”
Oh, and one more thing.” Thalia said seriously. “Donate it all to the Stray Animal Rescue Society.”
Got it.” Ryan replied.
Thalia turned around and spotted Wesley not far away, watching her with concern etched on his face.
