I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 288

Chapter 288

Inside the private room. Darion sat on the sofa, his handsome face giving the man a frosty stare. “Thalia and I aren’t divorced yet.

But Dax just scoffed. “The hearing’s coming up soon. Divorce is only a matter of time.”

He swaggered in and plopped down across from Darion. “Didn’t know you and Sebastian go way back. What’s he thinking. huh? Tsk tsk.”

Darion didn’t even react to the provocation. His sharp, dark eyes stayed cold as he stared at Dax. “So, you’re the one guarding Thalia now?”

‘Yeah, so what? Got a problem with that?” Dax replied, but in his mind he was thinking, ‘What does Darion want with me, anyway?’

Darion’s voice was calm, every gesture carrying an air of quiet authority. He stared at Dax with a distant look, and the invisible pressure in the room made Dax feel a sudden chill in his chest.

‘I don’t care who you work for. If you’re guarding Thalia, you put your life on the line for her. And anything that happens around her, you let me know,” Darion said.

Dax felt the pressure, his heart skipping a beat, but he still shot back, “Why should I listen to you?”

Ethan handed his life over to me, so now you answer to me,” Darion said, his voice growing even colder. “I won’t hurt her, and I won’t let anyone else lay a finger on her.”

Dax clicked his tongue. “Man, you’re so full of yourself. Acting like you’re so devoted, but if you’re really that deep in love, why’s Ms. Coleman divorcing you? Guess all that devotion is just an act, huh?”

That’s between me and my wife. Not your business,” Darion replied, his voice growing even colder.

This guy Dax just keeps pushing my buttons,’ Darion thought.

But if Ethan vouched for him, he’s probably reliable.

Dax pulled out his phone and called Ethan. “Hey, Ethan.”

Dax, did you meet Darion yet?” Ethan’s voice came through, sounding playful.

Yeah, I did. What’s going on? You want me to take orders from him?” Dax asked, frowning.

‘Mhm, just do what he says for now, but you don’t have to take everything too seriously,” Ethan said with a playful grin.

Darion’s sharp brows drew together at that.

‘Alright, got it,’ Dax replied with a laugh, finally relaxing a bit inside.

‘Darion, Ethan called out, as if he knew Darion was right there. “Dax’s got his own way of doing things. You can’t control him. He’s not your bodyguard.

“He’s not just protecting Thalia because I asked; he’ll listen to her first. Her grandmother, Diana, raised him, and that’s a debt none of us can ever repay. So don’t get any ideas.”

For once, Ethan sounded serious. “If you really love Thalia, then sort out your mess with Miya once and for all.”

With that, he hung up.

Dax chuckled “Ethan knows what’s up. Mr. Blackburn, your way of doing things doesn’t work on me Still, for Ethan’s sake. I’ll let you know about her when it really matters.”
