Chapter 290

Sandra’s face was grim, her voice strained. The bodyguards had already come up to her, about to drag her into the car.

Her resistance and sobbing didn’t make any difference.

Sandra suddenly felt a deep sense of regret.

She realized she never should have let Darion marry Thalia.

If only she hadn’t agreed, the Blackburn family wouldn’t be in this mess now.

That little bitch Thalia is to blame for everything!’ Sandra fumed to herself.

Sandra was dragged into the car and shipped off overseas.

Helen called Darion right after, her voice low and serious. “Darion, isn’t it a bit much to treat your grandmother like this?”

Darion’s tone turned even colder. “She should really think about why she went after Thalia and used such dirty tricks against

her.”

Helen frowned, after a pause she said, “But Thalia’s fine…”

“Mom, don’t say things like that,” Darion said, his voice icy. “You wouldn’t want to join my grandmother, right?”

Helen fell silent.

‘He’s such an unbelievable bastard, Helen thought.

After a long silence, she suddenly asked, “You can be so heartless to your grandmother, so why can’t you be as ruthless with Miya? Darion, just tell me the truth. Do you actually like her?”

“She saved my life,” Darion replied, his voice carrying a hint of resignation. “If it hadn’t been for her, I would’ve died in that earthquake.”

Helen fell silent.

Thalia had been busy all morning, and when she finally stepped out of the recording studio, she spotted Ryan not far away, watching her with a smile.

Her expression cooled a bit. “Is there something you need?”

Ryan said, “Mr. Blackburn would like to invite you to lunch. He also wants to discuss some matters regarding the old

mansion.

Thalia set her script down on the desk and asked, “Has Sandra Blackburn been sent away?”

“Yes,” Ryan nodded.

“Oh, I see, Thalia said with a faint nod. “I don’t think lunch is necessary”

Ryan said. “Understood, ma’am. If you need anything, please feel free to let me know.”

Mm. Thalia replied.

Thalia’s expression stayed indifferent the whole time.

When is the trial going to start, anyway?’ Thalia wondered to herself.

Just then, her phone rang. She pulled it out and saw it was Matthew Evans calling.

‘Hey, I was just thinking about you,” Thalia said with a smile as she answered.

“Huh?” Matthew Evans was caught off guard. “You were thinking about me?”

‘I just wanted to ask when the trial is. Don’t overthink it,” Thalia quickly explained.

Matthew Evans chuckled. “You scared me for a second. I thought you were about to fall for me.”

He joked, “Hey, it wouldn’t be so bad. I’m just as good as Darion, you know.”

Thalia laughed, “Sure, I’ll keep you in mind once I’m divorced.”
