I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 293

Chapter 293

The villa courtyard was pitch black. and his silhouette slowly melted into the shadows, swallowed up by the darkness.

Thalia’s grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly as she fought to keep her emotions in check.

Don’t lose it. Stay calm, she told herself.

The trial hadn’t even started yet, and everything was still up in the air.

He’d agreed tonight, but what if he changed his mind tomorrow?

After all, he was always going back on his word.

Thalia closed her eyes for a moment, and once she’d finally calmed herself down, she drove off.

Back at Maplewood Estate, she took a quick shower, changed into something clean, and made her way to the hospital.

She’d gotten used to spending every night by Diana’s side.

Early the next morning. Thalia made her way to the hospital like she always did.

“You’re in such a good mood today. What’s got you so happy?” Diana asked gently, noticing the sparkle in Thalia’s eyes.

Thalia lifted her chin a bit. “Can’t tell you yet. I’ll let you know in a few days.”

“Alright, keeping secrets from me now, huh?” Diana nodded with a smile. “I’ll be waiting for your good news.”

“Yes,” Thalia said.

Thalia nodded, had breakfast with Diana, and after the doctor did his rounds, she headed off to work.

All morning. Thalia couldn’t help but smile. The happiness just wouldn’t leave her face.

But when Thalia got a call that afternoon, her smile disappeared instantly.

Thalia. Diana is missing!” The nurse’s voice was trembling with urgency and worry.

The call came from the hospital nurse, who sounded absolutely frantic.

Thalia couldn’t believe her ears. How could Diana just vanish from the hospital when she was perfectly fine?’ she thought. panic rising in her chest.

Thalia rushed straight to the hospital. When she arrived, the hospital room was empty, not a soul in sight. Her heart sank.

Thalia grabbed a caregiver’s arm, her voice trembling with worry. “What happened? Where’s Diana?”

The three caregivers were just as frantic. “We were with Diana the whole time. Then Shyla Mcgee came in and said she wanted to talk to her alone, so we stepped out, but stayed close by.

“Suddenly, there was some commotion in the hallway… When we got back to the room. Diana was gone.”

Shyla Mcgee! Thalia’s heart skipped a beat as she made the connection.

Thalia’s mind went blank. She’d always believed the hospital was the safest place. Nothing could possibly go wrong there.

Besides, there were three caregivers looking after her.

But she never imagined something could still go wrong.

Thalia took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, then dialed Shyla Mcgee’s number.

After three rings, the call finally connected.

Thalia, Shyla Mcgee said.

Shyla Mcgee sounded calm and gentle, just like always, like nothing was wrong at all. ‘She still sounds like that warm, caring mom… How can she act so normal?’ Thalia thought, her heart pounding.

Thalia clenched her phone so hard her hand shook, gritting her teeth as she demanded, “Where did you take Diana?!”

Shyla Mcgee replied, “Thalia, you’re making such a fuss. She’s my mom. I just wanted to talk to her alone for a bit.”
