I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 296

Chapter 296

Shyla was freaking out. She called Trenton and told him the plan had failed.

Trenton, what am I supposed to do now? That brat Thalia is definitely going to come after me,” Shyla said, her voice trembling.

There was a long silence on the other end.

Trenton? Are you even listening to me?” Shyla called out, her anxiety rising as he stayed silent.

After what felt like forever. Trenton finally spoke, his voice cold and distant. “Seriously, Shyla, are you crazy? What were you even thinking, pulling something like this?”

Shyla froze, staring at her phone in disbelief. “Wait, what are you saying? You think I’m crazy? But when I brought up the plan, you said yes!”

Trenton’s voice was icy. “I said I’d think about it. I never actually agreed.”

‘What the hell?’ Shyla thought, completely thrown off.

She was so shocked she could barely speak. “Are you serious right now? What do you mean?”

Trenton sighed, sounding tired. “Shyla, they’re gone. Why keep worrying about all that? Right now, there’s only one way to keep the Coleman Group afloat.”

The car raced down the highway, tension thick in the air.

Darion spoke in a calm, reassuring tone. “They’ve found her. Just hang in there.”

Thalia gripped the steering wheel, wishing she could teleport straight to Diana’s side.

She stayed silent, eyes fixed on the road ahead.

As they reached the outskirts, a row of townhouses came into view. A few people were standing at the entrance, among them were Dax and Ryan Johnson.

Ryan and Dax stood off to the sides, pointedly ignoring each other.

As soon as the car stopped, both of them hurried over.

Ryan was the first to speak. “Ms. Coleman, Diana’s inside. I’ve already got people guarding her. She’s safe, you don’t have to worry.

Dax frowned at him.

‘Does this guy even remember who he works for?’ Dax thought, annoyed.

Why’s he acting like he did everything?

Thalia turned to Dax. “Let’s go check on her.”

“Sure thing.” Dax replied.

Dax nodded, then shot Ryan a challenging look.

Ryan was at a loss for words. He turned to Darion and said. “I’ve looked into it. Shyla had Diana brought out. They didn’t hurt her

Darion asked, “How’s Diana holding up?”

Ryan replied, “She’s fine. Not scared at all.”

“Yeah, Darion replied.

He followed after Thalia.

“Wait, something’s not right!” Dax suddenly barked.

All of a sudden, he whirled around and dove straight at Thalia.

Darion, being the closest, immediately yanked her into his arms, holding her tight.

Whump…

Something slammed into the ground with a muffled sound, and right where it landed, a small dent appeared.

“Suppressor!” Dax barked, his face tightening with alarm.

He looked even more tense now.

“Protect Ms. Coleman!”

“Protect Mr. Blackburn!”

Shouts erupted all at once, and the bodyguards spread out, searching frantically for whoever fired the shot.

Thalia was pressed tightly against Darion as he pulled her back, making a desperate dash for the car..

Her ears were ringing, and she looked utterly stunned. “What the hell is happening? Why is there gunfire?”

Who the hell are they after?’ Thalia thought, her heart racing.

Just as they were about to reach the car, Darion pulled Thalia back and spun around to shield her.

The bullet barely missed, scraping Darion’s arm as it flew by.

Thalia nearly let out a scream, her heart pounding in her chest.

“There!”

“Here too!”

The bodyguards spotted their targets and rushed off in both directions.

Thalia gasped. panic in her voice, “Are you hurt?”

Darion squeezed his eyes shut for a second, pain flickering across his face, but he kept his arm locked tightly around her,
