“Darion, you’re awake? Helen’s voice trembled with relief as she spoke.

Helen’s face instantly lit up with joy when she saw him open his eyes.

‘Danion, you nearly scared me to death! How could you be so foolish? How could you not care about your own safety? If something really happened to you, did you want me to die with you too?” Helen sobbed, her words tumbling out between her cries.

She collapsed onto Darion’s chest, crying so hard she could barely catch her breath.

‘I was scared out of my mind, she thought, her heart still pounding.

Darion’s mind was still hazy. As soon as he woke up, he felt someone holding his hand.

He hated the feeling of being controlled, so he quickly pulled his hand back, reclaiming his autonomy.

But as he listened to Helen’s sobs, all his strength seemed to drain away. His hand went limp, and the pen slipped from his fingers, clattering onto the floor.

“Mom, I’m fine…” Darion whispered, his voice weak.

He closed his eyes, struggling to get the words out.

After pouring out her feelings, Helen finally managed to steady herself. “Darion, those people weren’t after you. It has nothing to do with you. Please, just divorce Thalia. You can’t put yourself in danger like this. I need you to stay safe.”

But Darion just said, “Let Ryan in.”

He’d forced himself awake, but now he was starting to fade.

Helen frowned. “Darion, are you even listening to me?”

“Let Ryan in… it’s about the company…” Darion was struggling to get the words out.

Hearing that, Helen didn’t waste a second. She hurried to call Ryan in.

Ryan rushed in, bent down next to Darion, and listened closely to what he had to say.

Before long, Darion slipped back into unconsciousness.

Helen, anxious, immediately asked, “What did Darion say to you?”

Ryan replied, “He asked me to take care of some company matters. Mrs. Blackburn, Mr. Blackburn really needs to rest now. Maybe you should step outside for a bit.”

Helen’s expression grew grim as she remembered the unsigned divorce agreement. “Ryan, go get another divorce agreement ready,” she said.

“Yes, ma’am,” Ryan replied..

They left the ICU together.

Thalia looked at Ryan and asked, “How is he?”

‘He really doesn’t want to sign those divorce papers.

‘Is he seriously still hung up on Thalia?
