Chapter 311
Unfortunately. Thalia had completely shut her out, both in her gaze and in her heart.
Out of nowhere. Shyla felt a sudden wave of panic.
Her once unwavering beliefs started to shake.
She had always believed Thalia was her own flesh and blood, and that her daughter would always be by her side.
But now, she wasn’t so sure anymore.
Miya was sprawled on the floor, no longer crying or throwing a tantrum. Her hair was scattered across her face, hiding whatever emotion she had left.
Thalia stood over her, looking down. “Isn’t it tiring, pretending for so many years?”
Miya slowly got to her feet, no longer kneeling. The red marks from the slap were still clear on her cheek, and she looked even more disheveled than before.
She gazed at Thalia, her voice still soft and fragile. “Lia, are you really not going to give up on the Coleman Group? That’s Mom and Dad’s life’s work.”
Thalia frowned a little. Something felt off. Miya was acting weird.
‘Even now, she’s still pretending?’ Thalia thought.
She stayed silent, giving Miya a frosty stare.
Miya covered her face, blinked at her, playing innocent. “Lia, why aren’t you saying anything?”
“What exactly are you trying to do?” Thalia asked.
The strange, unsettling feeling in Thalia’s heart kept growing, and unease gnawed at her from deep within.
Miya murmured softly, “I didn’t do anything.”
And with those words, she turned and walked away.
Thalia furrowed her brows as she watched Miya’s retreating figure, unable to stop herself from thinking, ‘What is she really up to?
But no matter how much she tried, she just couldn’t make sense of it.
It seemed like Miya had only come here to put on an act for their parents.
‘Now that the audience is gone, is she just dropping the performance? Thalia wondered.
‘Could she still be holding onto her old intentions? Thalia thought.
She always acted like she was the innocent one, pretending to take the blame on purpose so Mom and Dad would end up blaming Thalia for everything.

But now, that excuse just doesn’t fly anymore
Thalia pulled out her phone and sent a message to Dax.
Thalia: [Have someone keep an eye on Miya.]
Dax. [Got it ]
Thalia returned to the hospital room.
Diana immediately looked over, scanning Thalia from head to toe, and only then did her frown finally relax.
“My good girl, you really know how to protect yourself now. That makes me so proud,” Diana said, smiling kindly. Thalia sat by the bed and said, “After everything I’ve been through, some things have finally become clear to me.”
That’s right, we all keep growing,” Diana said, gently patting her hand.
