On the tombstone was a photo of a young man with sharp, chiseled features. His eyes and brows looked a lot like Darion Blackburn’s, and he was staring straight ahead.
Thalia set down the bouquet she was holding, bowed three times in respect, and softly said, “Emely, I’m here to visit you.”
The people nearby glanced at her, but one gaze was especially intense.
Helen Blackburn took Thalia’s hand, her voice still tinged with tears. “Sweetheart, why don’t you stay with us today? Come home and have dinner.”
Thalia lowered her gaze, quietly agreeing.
They lingered for a while before leaving the cemetery.
The cars were already waiting outside. Helen Blackburn kept holding Thalia’s hand, and they got into the same car together.
Darion tried to get in, but Helen said, “Thalia and I need to talk. Take the car behind us.”
There were two cars in total, and Miya was already in the second one.
Darion’s sharp brows furrowed as his deep, dark eyes locked onto Thalia. From the moment she arrived, he hadn’t taken his eyes off her.
But she never even glanced his way.
His expression grew colder as he yanked open the passenger door and said in a chilly voice, “Is there something you can’t say with me around?”
Helen frowned. “You brat, Thalia and I are having a woman-to-woman talk. Do you really have to butt in?”
Darion said, “I do.”
Helen was speechless.
Once everyone was in the car, the driver started the engine and headed toward Blackburn Manor.
Thalia turned to Helen and asked, “Why didn’t you bring Keith?”
“He’s still too young,” Darion replied. “We’ll tell him about this when he’s older.”
Thalia frowned slightly but didn’t say anything.
Helen shot Darion a glare. “See? Thalia doesn’t even want to talk to you. Why are you forcing yourself in? Are you just embarrassing yourself?”
“Mom, did you forget what you promised me?” Darion said quietly.

Helen sighed, “I was going to bring it up, but now that you’re here, it’s even harder to talk about.”
Darion went silent.
The mood in the car turned cold.

Thalia wasn’t interested in whatever cryptic conversation Darion and Helen were having. She just gazed out the window, feeling nothing inside.
She knew something was definitely going to happen today.
Maybe, after today, she and Darion wouldn’t even have to wait for the hearing. They could just settle the divorce right then and there.
Honestly, that would be perfect.

The car soon pulled up to Blackburn Manor. Since today was a special day, none of the servants were smiling, the atmosphere was heavy and serious.
Keith was with the nanny, watching the door eagerly. As soon as he saw them return, he struggled out of the nanny’s arms and ran over by himself.
“Mommy, Darry!” he called out.
Miya bent down, picked Keith up, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Suddenly, tears rolled down her face.
“Mommy, don’t cry,” Keith said, his voice anxious.
Keith hurried to wipe her tears away. “Don’t cry.”
Helen said, “Don’t cry in front of the child, he’ll worry about you.”
Miya nodded. “I know, Mom.”
She hurried inside with Keith in her arms, but Keith looked over at Darion and called out, “Darry, come here.”
Darion replied coolly, “Just stay with your mom.”
He came right up to Thalia, took her hand, and said, “Thalia, why are you ignoring me?”
Thalia paused, her gaze falling on his slender fingers, then slowly lifted her eyes to his face.
“Then why did you hide what happened during the earthquake from me?” Thalia asked, her voice calm but with a hint of accusation.
