Chapter 33 Amazing News
It was as if someone had poured icy water all over her, soaking her down to her bones.
Thalia went dumbfounded for a moment, stunned beyond belief, then began to struggle frantically.
“Fuck off! Get the fuck out of me!” she shouted.
She scoffed inwardly, ‘Even when he’s completely drunk, he still thinks of Keith and refuses to stay away from Miya.
‘Why does he have the right to say he loves me? Does he ever deserve it? He’s trampling the meaning of love!’ Thalia’s fury exploded. She shoved Darion hard, and his back scraped roughly against the wall, the sudden searing pain making him flinch.
He let out a muffled groan and crumpled to the floor.
Thalia stood up, her chest heaving as she glared at him. “You’re such a jerk!”
Darion looked up at her, his eyes glistening red. “Thalia… my back hurts.”
“Serves you right! Hope it hurts!” Thalia shot back.
She gave him a kick, her face twisted with rage, her body trembling with anger.
Thalia walked over to the door. Finding it already ajar, she stepped out immediately and never looked back.
The wind lashed against her face, carrying a bone-chilling cold that cut like tiny blades.
He didn’t spare a single glance, not even a flicker of emotion, for Darion lying on the floor.
Back in her apartment, she took a hot shower. The moment she stepped out of the bathroom, her phone buzzed insistently.
She glanced at the screen and saw Trenton’s name flashing across it.
She slammed the phone down, switched it off, and pulled the covers tight over her head, going to sleep at
once.
Right now, all she wanted was to rest, and then she’d talk to Darion about the divorce.
If Darion still refused, she’d go straight to Sandra.
Darion’s parents were coming back soon, and no matter what, she was going to settle the divorce.
She sank into a deep, dreamless sleep, the world around her fading to black. Only the sharp pangs of hunger jolted her awake hours later.
She ordered some takeout, then turned on her phone. A flood of messages and missed calls instantly popped
Thalia hesitated, closing her eyes briefly to gather her composure before she began checking the messages one by one.
Right then, her phone rang again. Her finger slipped inadvertently, and she answered the call before she could think.
“You ungrateful brat! You finally answered? Do you know-how seriously Darion’s injured? What’s wrong with you? Get to the hospital now!” Trenton’s angry voice exploded through the phone.
Thalia kept her eyes shut, her voice cold and mocking. “I’m not going. Let Miya take care of him. She can stay by his bed and nurse him. That way, the three of them can parade their little ‘family’ for everyone to see.”
With that, she ended the call.
When her takeout arrived, Thalia got up to answer the door, only to find Wendy standing there.
“Takeout again?” Wendy asked, handing her the food with a worried, confused look. “Why not ask the housekeeper to cook for you?”
Thalia muttered weakly, “I’m starving to death. Anything edible is fine.”

Wendy sized her up immediately, her brow furrowed with concern. “You’ve lost so much weight. What on earth have you been through lately?”
‘Too many things. Where do I even start?’ Thalia thought, feeling overwhelmed.
But she brushed past the question, changing the subject. “Why are you popping by unannounced?”
“I’m here to tell you some amazing news!” Wendy beamed. “Remember that voice acting gig we were talking about? It’s finally happening!
“I had a friend check with the studio, and they’re casting for a new show. They haven’t found the perfect fit yet, so I sent them your demo reel. They want to meet you in person!”
Thalia’s eyes lit up instantly. ‘This is actually good news!’ she thought excitedly.
“When shall we meet?” she asked, her voice full of anticipation.
Wendy replied, “You can go this afternoon. But… are you sure you can make it?”
Thalia nodded eagerly. “Of course I am! I’m more than ready.”
She ate quickly, then rushed to get dressed and fixed herself up. An hour later, she was looking absolutely breathtaking as she stood in front of Wendy.
Wendy’s eyes widened. “Girl, you look stunning. Come on, let’s go.”
But as soon as Thalia and Wendy pulled the door open, they were shocked to find Miya standing right outside. Thalia’s gaze turned frigid, and she shot Miya a cold smirk. “You actually dared to come here alone? Guess you’re braver than I thought.”
Miya instinctively stepped back and said, “Thalia, Darion’s in a coma at the hospital. You should go see him. You’re his wife. You can’t just leave him like that.”
