Thalia was a bit annoyed, but now wasn’t the time to get hung up on that. She shot Darion a frosty look and said, “None of that matters. Let’s go to City Hall right now.”

Darion’s cool gaze swept over Ryan, then he murmured something to the person next to him before heading toward the office.
He completely ignored Thalia.
Her face fell even further as she followed him straight into the office.
“Darion, what’s your deal? Are you trying to back out now?” Thalia demanded.
As soon as the door closed behind them, she confronted him directly.
Darion picked up his coffee cup from the desk, took a sip, then looked up at her with those sharp, obsidian eyes, cold and completely devoid of warmth.
“You don’t actually think I’m stalling because I’m still hung up on you, do you?” he said.
Thalia felt a sudden pang in her chest, but she raised her eyebrow and retorted, “Isn’t that what this is? I waited three hours for you yesterday, so why can’t you spare a little time for me today?”
Darion said coolly, “My time doesn’t come cheap.”
Thalia gave a mocking laugh. “Well then, Mr. Blackburn, with all your precious hours, do you actually have time to get divorced now?”
Darion walked toward her, his tall figure radiating that familiar presence she knew so well. With each step, he seemed to slowly surround her, his aura closing in.
Thalia looked at him, her face calm and steady.
“There’s no way I’d still be hung up on someone who handed me off to other women time and again,” Darion said quietly, stopping right in front of her.
Thalia retorted, “Then why are we even wasting time talking?”
“But I don’t have time right now,” Darion said coolly, not even flinching. “I’m about to leave for a business trip. Won’t be back for a week.”
Thalia’s watery eyes sparked with fury. “You-”
But before she could get the words out, Darion interrupted, “Since I was laid up in the hospital for so long, a lot of work piled up. I need to take care of that first.”
Thalia fell silent.
Darion’s dark eyes locked onto her, catching every flicker of emotion. “You’re not in a rush to get divorced, are

you? Unless it’s urgent, we can just handle it when I get back.”
Thalia was a loss for words.
Fuming, Thalia lashed out and slapped him hard.
Smack!
The crisp slap rang out in the room.
Darion turned his head a bit, rubbed his cheek, and stared at her. “Why’d you hit me?”

Thalia replied coldly, “Because you keep screwing me over and playing games with me. I have every right to hit you!”
Darion moved in a flash, grabbing both her wrists and twisting them behind her back.
He was so quick, Thalia barely had time to blink.
Before she knew it, she was already pulled into his arms.
Thalia’s eyes widened in shock, glaring at him, totally stunned. “Darion, what are you doing?”
They were so close, their noses were almost touching.
