Chapter 341

Ryan arched his brow slightly when he saw what was happening, but kept quiet and let it slide.

Thalia hadn’t been to the Blackburn Group in a long time, but everyone still recognized her. Even though word had gotten around that she and Darion were going through a divorce, since it wasn’t official yet, they still called her Mrs. Blackburn out of respect.

Thalia looked completely unfazed.

She’d originally planned to get some work done after the divorce was settled, but clearly, that wasn’t going to happen today.

So she went to find Wesley Chase and told him she didn’t have time today, and that they’d have to continue the work tomorrow.

Wesley Chase frowned at her for a moment, then let out a sigh and nodded. “Alright, we’re basically done anyway. All that’s left is the review. Go handle your own things.”

“Thanks, Mr. Chase,” Thalia said.

Thalia went straight upstairs.

She pushed open the CEO’s office door. The place was totally empty. Darion wasn’t there.

She plopped down on the couch and started scrolling through her phone.

By noon, Ryan had ordered lunch for her, but Darion still hadn’t come back.

After lunch, Thalia walked out and asked, “When is his meeting going to be over?”

Ryan shook his head. “I don’t know. It’s a meeting with both the local and international teams, so it might drag

on.”

Thalia frowned. “Will it be done by three this afternoon?”

Ryan looked helpless. “I can’t guarantee that, Mrs. Blackburn.”

Thalia closed the door and went back to the office to wait some more.

While she was waiting, Dax called to say the girl had woken up and was crying, insisting on leaving. Thalia told him to pass the phone to the girl.

Hearing the girl’s shaky sobs, Thalia said, “You’re seriously hurt. I was the one who hit you, so I’ll make sure you’re taken care of until you’re fully recovered. Why are you so eager to leave?”

The girl just kept crying, not saying a word.

Thalia didn’t push her. “I don’t want any trouble coming back to haunt me later, so you’re staying put for

now.”

The girl sobbed, “My mom’s still in the hospital. She’s paralyzed, and I need to take care of her.”

Thalia felt a pang of sympathy. “Which hospital?”

The girl paused, surprised. “You… you want to help me?”

Thalia said, “Let’s keep things clear. I hit you, so I’m responsible for your recovery. I’ll get someone to look after your mom, but you’ll need to pay me back for it.”

The girl was silent for a couple of seconds, then said, “Thank you! I’ll do my best to pay you back!”

Thalia responded, “Okay, so what’s your name?”

“Bonnie Curtis,” the girl said in a small voice.

“Alright, I’ve got your name. Just rest up in the hospital for now. I’ll drop by later to see you,” Thalia said. After wrapping things up, she glanced at the clock. It was already two in the afternoon.
