Darion stared at Thalia’s cold look, his lips moving as if he wanted to say something, but for a long moment, no words came out.

Thalia turned around and opened the door.

She felt a gentle tug from behind. Glancing back, she saw Darion holding onto her clothes, giving them a soft pull.

“My wound really hurts. Can you help me apply the medicine?” Darion said.

His voice dropped a little, and he lowered his gaze. For a moment, his tall figure seemed almost lonely and vulnerable.

The room was brightly lit. Darion had taken off his shirt, and though there was some blood oozing from the wounds on his chest and back, things looked pretty optimistic.

Thalia wiped away the blood first, then put on some ointment and wrapped him up with fresh bandages. She stayed silent the whole time. When she finished, she simply turned and left the room.

Darion watched her go, his eyes filled with a heavy loneliness.

Diana had taken a nap, and her mood was much steadier now, but her face looked noticeably older.

Thalia’s heart ached for her.

room was pitch black, the curtains were shut tight, and she could barely make out a shadowy figure on the bed.

“Darion?” Thalia called out.

She moved a little closer, calling his name again.

But Darion didn’t respond.

She moved in a bit closer and nudged him, but he still didn’t respond.

Her heart dropped. She flicked on the light and peered at his face. His cheeks were flushed with an unnatural redness, his brows tightly knit in pain. He looked miserable.

She reached out and touched his forehead. It was scorching hot.

He was burning up. He had a fever.

Thalia turned and rushed out to grab the first aid kit.

Diana saw her and asked, “What’s wrong?”
