The moment those words left his mouth, the air in the private room turned icy, the chill cutting straight to the bone.
Darion’s face darkened, his dark, piercing eyes locked onto Quinn with a cold, unreadable stare. “Quinn, you’d better think twice about what you’re saying.”
Quinn just grinned. “Of course I know what I’m saying. Hand her over to me. She’s my woman. Those punks wouldn’t dare lay a finger on her if she’s with me. Who’d be stupid enough to mess with the Falcon Syndicate?”
Darion’s expression grew even colder. “Looks like you don’t care about your organization anymore.”
Quinn looked at him in surprise. “Are you really going to start a war with me? So, whoever wins gets to keep her?”
He got even more excited, practically bouncing to his feet, looking like he couldn’t wait to get started.
‘This guy is twisted. Totally insane,’ Thalia thought.
Thalia shot him a glare, feeling utterly disgusted. She said coldly, “I’m not some prize to be won. I don’t belong to either of you.”
“Wow!” Quinn exclaimed, his eyes lighting up.
“You’ve got some real fire in you. I like that even more!”
‘If only she’d been this ruthless back then,’ Quinn thought, a bitter pang in his chest.
‘Maybe she wouldn’t have ended up as nothing but a bloody mess.’
Quinn’s eyes burned with a sour sting, but the crazed look in them only intensified. “Mrs. Blackburn, kick him to the curb and come with me. I promise you’ll be safe with me. Out of the country, nobody would dare lay a finger on you if you’re with me.”
“That all depends on whether you’ve got the luck to walk out of this country alive,” Darion said, his tone colder than ice. Without hesitation, he drew his gun and pressed it right to Quinn’s temple.
Quinn tilted his head, ignoring Darion and locking eyes with Thalia. “Mrs. Blackburn, why not pick me? Since you don’t want to be treated like a prize, I’ll let you decide. The choice is yours.”
“Psycho!” Thalia snapped, disgust clear in her voice.
Thalia didn’t even dare get close to this guy.
First he tried to kill her for money, and now that he sees her, he suddenly wants to be with her?
‘Is this guy’s brain fighting itself or something?’ Thalia thought, completely baffled.
Quinn blinked, his blue eyes shimmering with hurt and a touch of loneliness. “Seriously, you’re not

“You took money to kill me. Why would I ever trust you?” Thalia replied coldly, her eyes sharp as ice.
Quinn slapped himself hard, then looked at her, big fat tears rolling down his cheeks. “I messed up, I’m sorry. Please, don’t be mad at me, okay? Come on, just choose me!”

His blue eyes were full of tears, and his face was almost too good-looking for his own good. Seeing him cry like that, you couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for him.
Thalia was completely stunned.
‘Why is he crying?’ Thalia thought, totally thrown off.
“Don’t look at him,” Darion said coldly.
“He cut off his own siblings’ hands and feet, sobbing the whole time,” Darion added, his voice icy.
Thalia was at a loss for words.
