Wendy looked at her, pressed her lips together, and said, “Thalia, I just feel so lost right now.”

Thalia squeezed her hand. “It’s alright. Let’s just take things one step at a time. We’ll go get the shot first.”

“Okay,” Wendy murmured.

Wendy was completely distracted, lost in her thoughts.

After getting checked out, taking the meds, and getting the shot, the two of them finally left the hospital together.

Back at the South Hill Apartments, Thalia said, “Just forget about everything else tonight. I’ll stay with you.”

Wendy hugged her tightly. “Thalia, you’re so sweet.”

Thalia ordered takeout, everything Wendy loved. They had dinner together and watched a movie.

Wendy seemed to stop worrying about it, and her eyes were bright again.

“Go ahead,” Thalia replied, hugging a pillow and watching her with a relaxed smile.

Wendy cleared her throat and answered the call. “Hello? Who’s this?”

Darion was quiet for a moment before saying, “Put Thalia Coleman on the phone.”
