Chapter 450

Thalia looked at her with a cold, indifferent gaze. “Why don’t you just leave the country?”
“Why should I leave?” Miya’s eyes were bloodshot with emotion. “I didn’t do anything wrong! Why am I the one who has to take all the blame?”
A puzzled look crossed Thalia’s face. “But what can you even do if you stay?”
Miya glared at her, resentment burning in her eyes. Her lips parted as if to speak, but she stayed silent.
Darion said, “Let’s get out of here.”
Miya whipped her head around to glare at him. “You ungrateful bastard! I saved your ass back then, and this is how you pay me back? You’ll never have a good ending!”
Darion looked at her with cold disgust, ignoring her words as he turned and walked out.
“Darion!” Miya screamed, her voice echoing in the empty room.
She was completely ignored, her rage exploding. She screamed at the top of her lungs, but it didn’t change a thing.
Once they got in the car, Thalia let out a sigh of relief.
‘We found Miya. Diana is safe now.
‘But the relief was fleeting, and a heavy feeling crept back into my chest.
‘Why did Matthew Evans do this?
‘What is he really after?
‘Is he in league with the ones who paid mercenaries to take me out?’ The thought crossed Thalia’s mind.
None of it made any sense to Thalia, so she turned to look out the window.
Darion glanced at her, noticing the look on her face. “What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing,” Thalia replied.
But Darion didn’t buy it. He could see the turmoil in her eyes. She was clearly keeping something to herself, just not ready to share it with him.
He lowered his gaze, masking his emotions.
Their car made its way toward the city, while Miya was placed in the one following behind.
Just as they were about to reach the hospital, Darion’s phone started ringing.
He pulled it out and saw an unfamiliar number.
“Hello? Who’s this?” Darion answered.

“Darry, help me…”
It was Keith on the line, his young voice trembling with terror and tears.

Darion’s expression darkened, his eyes turning sharp and dangerous. “Who the hell are you?”
“Want your nephew to live? Then bring Thalia and Miya to me,” came a heavily distorted voice. You couldn’t even tell if it was a man or a woman. The caller gave an address, and the call ended abruptly.
Darion’s face turned grim. He tried calling the nanny, but the line just kept ringing, no answer.
He turned to the driver. “Take us to the abandoned chemical plant in the south district.”
“Yes, sir,” the driver replied.
Thalia whipped around to face him. “Why are we going there?”
Darion looked at her, his expression turning complicated. “Keith’s been taken.”
Thalia froze, her pupils shrinking in alarm.
‘Keith got taken right at this critical moment… Thalia thought, anxiety flooding her mind.
Her voice was hoarse as she said, “You go. I’ll take Miya to the hospital.
