I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 453

Chapter 453

Darion never acted without a plan. On his way here, he’d already made all the arrangements. The moment Matthew showed himself, the sniper lying in wait would have his sights trained right on Matthew’s head.

Matthew’s target was Thalia. He’d orchestrated assassination attempts against her time and again, and now that he finally had a rare chance, there was no way he’d let it slip by.

Matthew raised his eyes, as if he could feel the sniper’s aim locked right on him. Yet he showed no fear, just let out a soft chuckle and said, “The switch isn’t in my hands. If anything happens to me, someone else will press it, and this kid will end up looking like a porcupine.”

He pointed at Keith, dangling helplessly in mid-air, a wicked, bloodthirsty grin curling at his lips. “Darion, are you really ready to make your choice?”

“Darion, Darion, I’m begging you. Please save Keith! He’s Emely’s only child. Emely was always there for you, he took your place on that plane years ago.

“If it hadn’t been for him, you would’ve been the one who died. For the sake of what he did for you, please, just protect his only family, okay?” Miya pleaded, her voice breaking with sobs.

Miya kept crying out, pleading over and over, her face streaked with tears as she looked desperately at Darion.

Keith was left dangling in mid-air, sharp steel plates waiting below. Only a thin rope stood between him and disaster, his whole fate hanging by a thread.

He was so scared he’d gone numb, just staring ahead in a daze, too exhausted to even cry.

“Darion, I’m begging you! Just save Keith, and I’ll do anything you ask. Even if you want me to die, I’ll do it…” Miya kept pleading, her voice raw with desperation.

Her cries echoed through the empty factory, filling the space with sorrow.

Thalia felt a chill sweep over her. She glanced at Matthew, who wore an amused, almost playful expression, and asked, “Even if I’m about to die, at least let me die knowing the truth. Who’s really trying to kill me?”

Matthew looked thoughtful for a moment, then smirked, “Nope. You’re still alive, so my lips are sealed.”

Thalia forced a smile. “So if I die, how am I supposed to ever find out the truth?”

“Guess you’ll just die clueless,” Matthew shrugged. “All you can do is pray you don’t get born into such a complicated family next time.”

‘A complicated family… Thalia couldn’t shake those words from her head.

That was the only hint Matthew dropped.

But she was still totally lost.

Thalia lowered her eyes, then looked up at Darion, her face pale as a sheet. “When all this is over, take Miya and trade for the antidote. Make sure Diana is cured, then send her back home. Don’t let her come

back to this place.”

She looked like she already knew what Darion was going to do, and was already saying her goodbyes.

Darion’s strong, determined brows furrowed as he watched her. She looked like she’d already accepted her fate, ready to die if she had to. Frustration gnawed at him.

‘Is she really that sure I won’t choose her?

‘She never really trusted me, did she?’ he wondered, disappointment washing over him.
