Chapter 154
Chapter 454
Thalia stopped dead in her tracks.
Just then, the deafening roar of a motorcycle thundered closer, almost splitting her eardrums. The bike barreled straight in, and with a sharp turn, slammed into a steel plate on the ground, sending it flying with sheer momentum.
Bang!
Just as Matthew tried to bolt, a bullet struck his thigh. He crashed to the ground, completely immobilized.
Before Thalia could even process what was happening, Darion pulled her protectively into his arms. In the blink of an eye, several bullet holes appeared right where she’d been standing.
Matthew, still gripping his gun, instantly swung it around and took aim at her once more.
Bang!
From a distance, a sniper’s bullet struck Matthew’s hand, forcing him to drop his weapon. He grabbed his wrist, his face contorted in agony.
A dozen or so bodyguards rushed in, swiftly taking control of the scene.
Darion sensed Thalia trembling slightly. He placed his hand firmly on the back of her head, his voice right by her ear, steady and full of reassurance. “It’s alright, it’s over. Everything’s been taken care of.”
“Keith…” Miya’s cries echoed through the room.
Keith had already been released, but as Miya tried to rush over and hug him, the bodyguards held her
back.
“Keith, don’t be scared. The bad guys are all gone now,” Jason said, taking off his helmet and scooping the little boy up in his arms. He grinned and asked, “Was Uncle Jason cool or what?”
Keith’s face was ghostly pale, too shocked to even cry anymore. What he’d just seen was way too much for his little mind to handle.
He’d been strung up, watched guns go off, bullets flying, and blood everywhere. The little guy was just frozen.
Jason scooped him up. “Keith? Can you hear me?”
Seeing the kid still spaced out, Jason glanced at Darion. “Darion, you think Keith’s been traumatized?”
Darion had already let go of Thalia. Hearing this, he looked over and said, “Take him to the hospital for a check-up first.”
“Alright,” Jason said.
Jason scooped Keith up and headed straight out.
“Keith, my son! Give me back my son!” Miya was still struggling and screaming, her voice hoarse with

But the bodyguards held her down so tightly she couldn’t move an inch.

Matthew was tied up, the look of defeat plain on his face. He’d stopped fighting, just slumping there with his head down.

Thalia closed her eyes for a second, then strode right up to Matthew and slapped him hard across the face.
Matthew’s head jerked to the side from the blow. He pushed his tongue against his cheek, kept his gaze down, and didn’t say a word.
That slap seemed to drain every last bit of strength from Thalia. Her face was ghostly pale, and she swayed on her feet.
In the next instant, a strong arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her into a warm, solid embrace.
“Let’s go home. Diana’s still waiting for us,” Darion said, his voice gentle and reassuring.
“Yeah,” Thalia murmured.
