Chapter 456
Thalia said, “She’s in the car downstairs. Come with me and you can check it out.”
Trenton frowned. “Why didn’t you bring her up?”
As he spoke, he rushed outside.

“Trenton, wait for me,” Vicky called out, sounding anxious. She hadn’t seen Miya in forever and missed her so much.
Trenton turned back, took Vicky’s arm, and walked with her.
Thalia watched them leave, her clear eyes icy and indifferent.
“Thalia,” Shyla called softly.
“Is Miya… okay?”
Obvious sarcasm flashed in Thalia’s eyes. “You really care about Miya that much?”
Shyla’s eyes flickered. “We know we let her down. We’re just trying to make things right.”
“What a noble sentiment.” Thalia let out a mocking laugh, then turned away without another word.
“Thalia…” Shyla called softly, her voice tinged with pleading.
Watching Thalia’s figure disappear, Shyla felt a surge of panic, like both her daughters were slipping through her fingers, and she couldn’t hold onto either of them.
But Thalia didn’t even acknowledge her. She walked out of the hospital briskly, not looking back.
The car was parked on a quiet back street behind the hospital, where there were hardly any people around, so it wouldn’t cause any commotion.
As Thalia walked over, she saw Vicky holding Miya’s hand and crying, while Trenton was looking deeply troubled.
Darion was leaning against another car, a cigarette between his fingers, watching the scene with a detached look.
When he saw Thalia, the chill in his eyes faded a bit. He put out his cigarette and headed straight toward
her.
Seeing her calm expression, he could tell Shyla hadn’t affected her at all, and he finally felt a bit more at
ease.
“Thalia, you vicious bitch! How dare you poison my granddaughter!” Vicky shrieked, her face twisted with
rage.
Her hand was shaking as she pointed at Thalia, so furious she looked like she might pass out from rage any
second.

Chapter 456
Trenton shot her a frosty glare. “How could you poison her? Since when did you get so vicious?”

Thalia looked at him with a calm expression. “I learned from you. With teachers like you, I picked up the tricks pretty fast.”
Trenton’s face grew even darker, but he managed to keep his temper in check. “Where’s the antidote?”
Thalia scoffed. “Antidote? What antidote?”
“There is no antidote!” Vicky shrieked, her voice shaking with fury. “You dared to poison my granddaughter? Then I’ll make sure that old hag Diana Brooks dies for it!”
“Go ahead,” Thalia replied coldly, her gaze frosty.
“The poison Miya got is nothing like what my grandmother had. Miya won’t die, but she’ll have to watch her own hands and feet rot away, tasting the agony of being alive but wishing for death. That kind of pain isn’t something most people can endure.”
She was just making it up.
