Miya looked at Trenton, her voice trembling as she called out, “Dad…”

She was overwhelmed with emotion. She used to hold a deep grudge against Trenton and Shyla, convinced they were the ones who destroyed her once-happy family.

So all these years, she kept driving a wedge between them and their children, turning them into enemies.

And she’d actually succeeded.

Next, she was planning to break up Trenton and Shyla’s marriage.

But now, after finding out about all this, she began to hesitate.

She’d already lost her parents. Did she really want to ruin Trenton and Shyla, the ones who had always been so good to her?

Miya felt conflicted and uncertain, caught in a whirlwind of emotions.

Trenton gently patted her hand, his voice soft and reassuring. “Miya, you’re going to be okay. Don’t worry.”

Thalia watched the scene unfold, her gaze lingering on Miya’s face. She quickly caught on to what Miya was thinking.

She let out a light laugh, her lips curled in a teasing smirk as she looked at Miya. “So, are you finally ready to live like a normal person and stop all your plotting and scheming for revenge?”

Miya’s eyes flickered, and she hurried to deny it. “What nonsense are you talking about?”

Trenton frowned. “What revenge?”

Thalia shrugged. “I’m not even gonna bother explaining. You wouldn’t believe me anyway. Luckily, I recorded everything. I’ll play it for you and Shyla in a bit.”

Miya’s eyes widened in shock. She never imagined that, even when things were so intense, Thalia would still manage to record everything.

“No!” Miya cried out, her voice trembling.

She kept shaking her head, her lips quivering, too stunned to say anything else.

She looked at Thalia with pleading eyes, silently begging her not to play the recording.

She’d already lost her real parents. She couldn’t bear to lose her adoptive parents, Trenton and Shyla, too.

Thalia withdrew her gaze, her face icy and indifferent, then turned to Trenton. “Hand over the antidote.”

Vicky grabbed Trenton’s hand, tears streaming down her face. “Give it to her, give her the antidote! Thalia is so cruel. Miya can’t suffer through something like that…”

Vicky was completely terrified by Thalia’s description of what would happen when the poison kicked in.

Trenton pulled a small bag out of his pocket, but he didn’t hand it to Thalia just yet. Instead, he fixed his gaze on her. “Where’s the antidote for Miya?”

Thalia turned to Darion.

Darion said, “Hand over Diana’s antidote first. We need to make sure it’s legit before we make the trade.”

Trenton frowned. “What if I give it to you, and you guys just don’t hand over Miya’s antidote?”

“I’ll give it to you,” Thalia said, her tone icy and detached. “Because honestly, instead of letting her die, I’d much rather watch each and every one of you suffer a fate worse than death.”

“No…” Miya whispered, her voice barely audible.

She kept shaking her head, wishing she could just drop dead right then and there.

That way, even if Trenton and Shyla learned the truth, they wouldn’t hold it against her.
