I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 46

Chapter 46 Keith’s Words

When Darion saw Keith, his icy gaze softened, giving way to gentle warmth in his eyes. He gestured for him to come over. “Keith, come here.”

Keith walked over and hugged Darion’s leg. “Darry, are you unhappy?”

He looked up, his voice soft as he asked, his big dark eyes shining.

Keith looked just like Emely, almost identical. Every time Darion saw that face, it reminded him of Emely.

Emely had always been calm and steady, while Darion had been naughty since their childhood.

Once, he’d snuck out to play, and Emely had gone to find him. But misfortune struck: a group targeting the Blackburn family had seen the brothers alone and kidnapped them.

They’d been held captive for three days. They got only one meal a day, and Emely always gave the plain bread to Darion. Any water they had, Emely let Darion drink first.

Even when the kidnappers tried to drag Darion out to beat him, Emely stood between him and them.

Darion still remembered those painful groans Emely made, echoing in his mind even now.

“Darry?” Since Darion didn’t respond, Keith called his name.

“I’m not unhappy,” Darion replied, coming back to his senses. He looked at Keith, his eyes warmer than before.

“It’s late. Why are you still at the hospital?” Darion asked.

Keith glanced instinctively toward the door before replying, “You looked upset, Darry. I was worried about you.”

Darion stroked his head gently. “I’m fine. Go home now. And do as your mother says.”

But Keith didn’t move. He clung to Darion’s leg, his voice muffled. “Darry, all the other kids have dads. Why don’

t I have one?”

“Your dad is a hero,” Darion said, his voice tight. “You can’t see him, but he’s always here, watching over you.”

“But I want my dad here with me,” Keith mumbled, pressing his face into Darion’s leg. “Darry, can you be my dad? I just want someone to be my dad.”

Darion frowned deeply, his tone sharpened. “Who told you to say that?”

Keith trembled sensitively and said, “I just want a dad.”

That meant no one had influenced him, and that this was all his own thought.

A cold glint flashed across Darion’s face as he gently eased him away. “Uncle and dad are just words. No difference. Ask me for anything, and I’ll give it to you.”

“But dads live with their families,” Keith said, staring up at him. “Darry, when will you live with Mom?”

“If I did, what about Lia? She and I are married. We are family,” Darion replied, his eyes turning icy.

“Keith, what are you doing here?” Miya called out, her voice full of worry.

She rushed over, scooped Keith into her arms, and looked at Darion apologetically. “Darion, I’m so sorry. Did Keith bother you while you were resting?”

“Not really,” Darion said coolly. “Just take him home.”

Miya paused, then asked cautiously, “Darion, did you and Thalia patch things up?”

“Yeah,” Darion answered, shutting his eyes, clearly done with the conversation.

Miya could only pick up Keith and leave quietly.
