I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 47

Chapter 47 Matthew Apologizes

Wendy glanced back and forth between Thalia and Matthew, unable to shake the feeling that there was something wrong between them.

Sensing her cold attitude, Matthew covered his mouth and coughed softly. “Thalia, I just returned to Oakwood. I don’t know what’s going on with you two. All I remember is five or six years ago, you two were crazy about

each other.

“I thought it was just a misunderstanding. Now I know that you’ve been wronged. I was too hasty. I’m sorry.”

Thalia’s clear eyes widened slightly in surprise. “You figured it out so fast?”

Matthew looked even more embarrassed. “Darion took his sister-in-law’s side against his own wife. All our friends are talking about it. I didn’t even have to ask.”

: Thalia was speechless, thinking, ‘Seriously? Is my life just everyone’s entertainment now?’

Wendy shot him a look. “Are you here to make it worse, or actually apologize?”

“To apologize. I’m really sorry!” Matthew hurried to say, glancing nervously at Thalia. “My mistake.”

Thalia gave a wry smile. “It’s fine. They were going to end up together anyway.”

Matthew glanced around. “This isn’t a good place to talk. Why don’t you join me in a better place? I’m eating alone anyway.”

Wendy’s eyes lit up. She didn’t want to wait in line, actually.

But Thalia shook her head. “No, thanks. We’re okay waiting.”

Matthew sighed softly. “You still won’t forgive me? Let me make it right. I’m truly sorry. We’ve been friends for years. Don’t let this ruin everything.”

With him saying that, Thalia could no longer act cold

Wendy chimed in, “Thanks, handsome. If it weren’t for you, we’d probably starve to death here.”

Matthew grinned. “Let’s go. More people mean more fun.”

“Let’s go, great!”

The new restaurant was thick with the rich, inviting scent of food, making their mouths water.

Once they stepped into the private room, Matthew handed over the menu. “Anything else you want? Just order whatever you like.”

Wendy took it cheerfully. “Thanks for your treat!”

Matthew turned to Thalia. “Are you really serious about divorcing him?”

Thalia nodded. “Yeah, I’m just stepping aside for them.”

“After all these years together, doesn’t it hurt to end it?” Matthew couldn’t help asking.

He still recalled Thalia eight years ago, waiting by the dorm. She’d worn a white down jacket and a red scarf, long blonde hair falling over her shoulders. Her delicate face glowed softly, innocent and shy, with a light blush on her cheeks.

Just one glance at her had been enough to make anyone’s heart race.

After she started dating Darion, he was all she ever saw. Whenever he was near, her gaze locked onto him, and she noticed no one else.

She’d loved him with everything she had, completely devoted.

The guys in their dorm had been green with envy.

“I can’t even stand to look at them anymore,” Thalia muttered. The innocence and shyness that had once defined her were long gone; her once-bright eyes were now dim and heavy.
