I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 494

Chapter 494

Quinn shot to his feet and saw Jason had grabbed the phone.

He strode over, hand outstretched. “Give me the phone!”

That voice!

That unmistakable voice, he could never forget it!

He’d been searching for her for what felt like forever!

She was the girl from his very first night!

Jason frowned at him. “Mr. Quinn Clark, this is my phone.”

“Give it to me!” Quinn demanded.

Quinn’s face was deadly serious, and his blue eyes were practically blazing with a madness that made people want to back away.

Jason glanced at the contact name on the screen: “Little Wendy.”

Thankfully, it wasn’t her full name.

Quinn couldn’t read much Aristonese anyway.

He hung up and wiped the call history, then said, “Mr. Clark, I can’t give you my phone. That was just some spam call, nothing important.”

“I don’t buy it!” Quinn shot back, stubborn as ever. “Hand over your phone, or at least give me the number from that call!”

Jason could feel the pressure mounting, and a flicker of doubt crept into his mind.

‘Does Quinn really recognize Wendy’s voice?’ Jason wondered.

‘How could that be?

‘They’ve never even met.

But a sense of unease started to gnaw at Jason.

He instinctively wanted to keep Wendy’s identity hidden, No way could he let Quinn find out.

He said, “Mr. Clark, why do you want my phone so badly? Do you know who just called?”

Quinn’s eyes were wild with excitement and obsession. “I found her! She’s the girl from my first night! I finally found her! So hand over your phone. I need to call her again, I have to make sure it’s really her!”

Jason’s heart skipped a beat when he heard that.

‘No way… it’s Wendy!’ Jason was utterly shocked.

He couldn’t help but recall the time he bumped into Wendy at the hospital.

She’d visited the OB-GYN.

She definitely wasn’t there because she was feeling unwell. She must’ve been there to consult about something.

As for what she was asking about, Jason didn’t even want to think about it.

Jason clenched his jaw. ‘Seriously? She went through something this big and didn’t breathe a word to me? Unbelievable,’ he fumed.

‘Good thing I found out first. If Quinn ever got to her, who knows what kind of mess that would cause!’ Jason thought, a chill running down his spine.

Jason pulled himself together and put on a relaxed smile. “Just another spam call, Mr. Clark. Those robocalls all sound alike. No way that was the girl you’re after. If you don’t believe me, take a look.”

He handed his phone to Quinn, showing the blocked number sitting right there in the spam folder.

Quinn didn’t believe a word of it. He grabbed Jason’s phone and frantically scrolled through the contacts and call logs, even dialing a few numbers himself.

But no matter how hard he tried, that voice, the one that sent his heart racing, never came through.

‘What is going on?

‘How could this happen?

Is there something wrong with my hearing?

‘No way, that’s impossible!’ he told himself, refusing to believe it.

He’d burned the voice of the girl from his first night into his soul. He’d remember it until the day he died. There was no way he could be wrong about it!

“Where did the number go?!” Quinn suddenly grabbed Jason by the collar, his eyes wild with fury. “Did you tamper with it or something? Where is it?!”

Jason backed away a few steps, putting his hands up defensively. “Mr. Clark, seriously, I didn’t touch anything. You saw the number yourself. It’s right there on my phone. It was just a spam call.”

Quinn was about to say something else when Darion strode over and grabbed his wrist.

Darion’s grip was like steel as he forced Quinn’s hand off. With a cold expression, he said, “We’re all helping you search. If we find her, we’ll let you know right away. But if you keep acting like this, you’ll never find her at this rate.”
