Darion held her close, his commanding, icy aura wrapping around her, sending a constant sense of security her way

Thalia’s long lashes quivered, and a sudden rush of nervousness swept through her heart. She couldn’t help but crave the warmth of his embrace.

She closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down, and asked, “Why are you helping me like this? What do you really want?”

A soft sigh slipped from Darion as he gently stroked Thalia’s back, his voice barely above a whisper. “Thalia, I don’t want a divorce. That’s my only reason. Everything I do is just because I can’t stand the thought of you leaving me.”

He released her, his dark, almond-shaped eyes locking onto hers with a rare seriousness. “Since we can’t get divorced anytime soon, why don’t we try living like we used to, just for a while? Let’s be a normal couple again.”

Thalia’s heart tightened, a sour ache and sadness suddenly flooding her chest.

It was as if Darion had struck a raw nerve, and her body instantly reacted, a reflex she couldn’t control.

Her first instinct was to escape, to turn around and walk away without a second thought.

Thalia’s expression grew distant as memories of their eight years together washed over her. The first four years were filled with genuine love.

They understood each other’s quirks, went out of their way to make each other happy, and their affection only deepened with time. That’s why, when everything fell apart later, the heartbreak and sorrow felt unbearable.

After Emely left, their relationship began to shift. Little fissures started creeping in, barely noticeable at first.

Ever since Darion started paying attention to Miya, everything changed.

Thalia turned her face away, not wanting to revisit those memories. “I just can’t forget all the pain. Keeping things as they are now is already the best I can do.”

Darion’s breath grew heavier as he watched her pale face. He knew he had to back off for now, not add any more pressure.

He wrapped her in his arms again, his voice husky. “Alright, I respect your choice. But remember this. I’ve never loved anyone but you, Thalia. From the start, it’s always been you.”

The weather was perfect, so Bonnie took Diana out for a stroll.

The neighborhood was gorgeous, with lush greenery everywhere. Over seventy percent of the area was landscaped, and there were flowers blooming in every season.

Diana could move around just fine now, though she was still a little slow to respond. But after walking around the block a couple of times, her mood was visibly brighter.

“I think I just saw Sebastian Flynn, Bonnie said softly.

She was holding Diana’s arm as they rounded the corner, and glanced ahead where a few people were walking by

Bonnie muttered the words almost to herself.

Diana paused for a few seconds, then asked, “Is that Sebastian?”

Diana nodded. “Sebastian Flynn? He’s Thalia’s friend. I’m not sure what happened, but for some reason, they don’t talk anymore.”
