Chapter 56 Trenton’s Decision

Jason was totally thrown off. “Wait, what? Why? If she didn’t do it, why would she admit to it?”

Darion swallowed hard, his jaw tight as he fell into a long, heavy silence.

Jason scratched his head, utterly perplexed. He wracked his brain, but he couldn’t fathom Thalia’s motives.

There was nothing to gain from this. Nothing at all.

She’d be labeled a heartless villain, shunned by the Blackburn family, and blamed for every mess by her own family.

Jason didn’t even dare to imagine how ruined her future would be.

“So, we need to find proof she didn’t do it,” Darion said, his voice gritty with determination.

“Absolutely, I’m with you all the way, bro. We’ll clear her name.” Jason nodded sharply, his expression hardening.

“Thanks,” Darion grunted in agreement.

Sandra rushed to the hospital just as Keith was coming out of the ER.

Shyla said, “Luckily, someone caught Keith. He’s alright. Only has a mild concussion. He’ll make a full recovery with a few days’ rest.”

Sandra was overcome with worry, clutching Keith’s hand tightly. “My poor dear great-grandson, going through this on his birthday.”

She turned to Shyla, her tone turning icy. “Thalia has already admitted she did it. I told her she must divorce Darion, and Trenton has agreed.”

Shyla’s face paled in shock. “That’s… impossible.”

“Why not?” Sandra snorted. “She confessed herself. How could it not be true?”

Shyla’s heart raced with confusion and fear. In her mind, Thalia might have been a little spoiled, but she would never do anything unforgivable.

Just then, Trenton walked in, his expression dark. “Darion and Thalia are getting divorced tomorrow.”

Shyla looked at him. “Thalia would never hurt anyone.”

Trenton glanced at Miya, who was standing by the bed, then said to Shyla, “Come with me.”

Shyla hurried after him, her face pale.

In the quiet stairwell, Trenton said, “Since Darion cares so much about Miya, why not have him break things off with Thalia and get together with Miya?”

“You can’t mean that. What about Thalia? What will happen to her?” Shyla protested instinctively.

Trenton scoffed coldly. “You have no idea what Darion did. He got a vasectomy. He never wanted kids with Thalia. The only child he cares about is Keith.”

Shyla’s hand flew to her mouth, shock rendering her speechless. She couldn’t accept that fact.

Trenton let out a weary sigh. “It’s karma, really. I tried to keep them apart to avoid trouble, but fate had other plans. They actually both married into the Blackburn family.

“And now Emely’s gone. If he hadn’t died, things would’ve stayed quiet. No one saw this mess coming.”

Shyla steadied herself and said, “I don’t mind Darion and Thalia divorcing, but Miya and Darion can’t be together. It would destroy Thalia.”

“She brought this on herself!” Trenton snorted. “If she hadn’t been causing trouble and making a fuss about divorce, I wouldn’t even be considering this.”
