The moment Diana finished speaking, tears gathered in the corners of her eyes and rolled down her checks.

She reached up to wipe them away, let out a sigh, and continued. “Thalia, I don’t have any other wishes. We were mother and daughter, but that’s all the fate gave us. Just make sure I never see her again.”

Thalia reached out to help wipe Diana’s tears, her heart twisting with pain and sorrow. She thought Diana was just too kind.

No matter how much Shyla repented, the fact that she had poisoned her own mother was something that could never be undone. She could die three thousand times over and it still wouldn’t be enough to make up for it.

If it weren’t for Diana, Thalia wouldn’t even be here.

And yet, Shyla even sided with strangers against Diana.

Diana’s dry hand rested gently on Thalia’s hair, stroking it softly as she spoke slowly, “Thalia, they did raise you. No matter what they’ve done, out of gratitude for that, please don’t seek revenge on them anymore, okay?”

The Colemans had already gone bankrupt, and Trenton and Shyla’s lives were nothing like before. At this point, it wouldn’t take much, just a little effort, and their remaining years would be a living hell.

But Diana didn’t want Thalia to go down that path.

She just wanted Thalia to never see them again.

She hoped Thalia would always keep a heart as clear as glass, never letting hatred cloud her eyes.

Thalia cast her eyes down and nodded. “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

After everything Diana had done for her, Thalia couldn’t possibly refuse. Besides, she honestly never wanted to see Trenton or Shyla again. It’d be best if they just disappeared from her life for good.

I’m really worn out this time,” Diana let out a weary sigh. “I’ve said so much, I just feel exhausted. I think I’ll lie down for a

bit.

Okay, I’ll be right here with you,” Thalia nodded.

Oh, and one more thing.” Diana said after she had just lain down.

Suddenly, she reached out and took Thalia’s hand. “Don’t blame Bonnie. She really meant well, she just doesn’t know the whole story. I actually like her a lot. Let her keep me company, okay?”

Thalia smiled softly. “I know, I’m not blaming her.”

Bonnie was still so young, not even twenty yet. She really had no clue about all the messy drama going on.

At her age, she should be living it up on campus, not stuck here working as a maid.

That’s why Thalia was especially forgiving and tolerant toward Bonnie

Diana finally closed her eyes, at peace, and slowly drifted into sleep.

Thalia curled up next to the bed and dozed off for a bit. When she opened her eyes and saw Diana’s gentle, loving face the ache in her heart eased a little.

She slipped out of the room quietly. It was already evening, and Jadiel came over to tell her that dinner was ready

But Darion was nowhere to be seen in the living room.

Thalia asked casually. “Where is he?”

Jadiel replied, “Mr. Blackburn went out about two hours ago.”

After a moment, Jadiel asked, “Do you want me to call Mr. Blackburn and see if he wants to come back for dinner?”
