The misunderstanding had been cleared up. Sebastian hadn’t done it, but Thalia still kept her distance from him

That was something he just couldn’t accept.

He always wanted to ask her what was holding her back.

He would never hurt her.

Thalia bit her lip, her long lashes quivering. After a long silence, she finally looked up at Sebastian and said. “Sebastian, I’ve been through so much lately. Do you know Matthew Evans?”

Sebastian paused to recall, then nodded. “Yeah, I think you two were friends.”

Thalia gave a bitter smile. “But he tried to kill me. I barely survived.”

Sebastian’s pupils contracted in shock. He never imagined there was such a dark secret behind it all.

Thalia continued, “So now, I can’t afford to trust anyone so easily. I only get one shot at life. If something happens to me, that’s it…”

She left the sentence hanging, but the meaning was clear between them.

Sebastian’s face was a mix of emotions, and he sounded apologetic as he said, “I’m sorry. I had no idea about any of this.”

No wonder she was so guarded around him. After what happened last time, she was like a startled bird, always on edge, seeing danger everywhere.

‘It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have pushed you,” Sebastian confessed, his voice heavy with regret as the truth finally sank in.

Thalia took a sip of her coffee and said, “I’m glad you understand. But Sebastian, let’s not meet so often from now on.”

Right now, all she wanted was to focus on her training and wait for the right opportunity to go after Vera.

She was determined to give back every ounce of fear and danger Vera had made her suffer.

A cold, icy glint flashed in Thalia’s eyes.

Sebastian nodded. “Alright, I get it.

He stood up. “I’ve got a meeting coming up, so I won’t keep you. If you ever need anything, just reach out to me. I’ll do everything I can to help.”

“Okay. I know. Thank you, Thalia said, her eyes soft and sincere as she looked at him.

She really appreciated that he got where she was coming from.

As Sebastian turned to leave. Thalia felt a weight finally lift off her chest.

Bonnie called her, sounding a bit anxious. “Thalia, Sebastian seemed really disappointed when he saw me He barely said anything before leaving. Is he mad at me?”

Thalia replied. “No, he’s not upset. He won’t hold it against you. Let’s go home.”

Bonnie let out a sigh of relief. “Phew, that’s a relief. I really thought he was mad.”

Thalia smiled. “Are you still at the restaurant? I’ll come over and meet you.”

“Yeah, I’m still here,” Bonnie replied.

After hanging up, Thalia got up, paid the bill, and headed straight to the restaurant next door. The place was buzzing with noise as soon as she stepped inside.
