Thaha raised an eyebrow and said softly, “You started this mess, so now you clean it up.”

A hint of helplessness crossed Darion’s face as he took her phone and met Diana’s cloudy eyes.

The moment Diana saw the person on the screen wasn’t Thalia, her brows immediately furrowed. “Where’s Thalia? Why are you there?”

Darion put on a somewhat ingratiating smile and said, “Diana, I’m the one who took Thalia out for a trip. It was a last- minute decision, so we didn’t get a chance to tell you. I’m really sorry for making you worry. It was careless of me, and I take full responsibility.”

With that handsome face and such a sincere attitude, Diana couldn’t bring herself to scold him.

She was silent for a while before finally saying, “I was just worried because I didn’t know where you two had gone. Since you’re on a trip, just enjoy yourselves.”

Darion nodded. “Got it.”

Then he handed the phone back to Thalia.

Thalia flashed an innocent, sweet smile and looked brightly at Diana.

“You little brat,” Diana scolded, though her tone was more fond than angry.

She went on, “Since you’re out, just enjoy yourself and don’t overthink things. Everything’s fine here, and Darion has taken care of everything. So don’t worry about me.”

Thalia nodded. “Okay, I know, Grandma.”

‘Alright, if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now,” Diana said.

Just as Thalia was about to hang up, the screen suddenly went dark. Diana hung up so fast, Thalia barely had time to react.

Thalia blinked in surprise for a moment, then just shrugged it off. She slipped her phone away and gazed out the window.

Her eyes drifted off into the distance, her brows softened, and she looked peaceful and relaxed.

Darion watched her and asked, “What are you thinking about?”

Thalia shook her head. “Nothing, really. Just enjoying the quiet.”

Something unreadable flashed in Darion’s eyes. He just lowered his gaze and stayed silent.

The food was all local specialties, and Thalia found it just right for her tastes. By the time they finished eating, evening had already settled in.

They wandered down the street, spotted the market up ahead, and headed over. They checked out all sorts of handmade crafts and picked up a few small souvenirs.

As they walked, Thalia suddenly felt a cold gaze on her, sending a chill down her spine. She glanced over her shoulder, but all she saw were people passing by, just a bunch of strangers, no one seemed out of place.
