Chapter 600
Thalia yanked her hand away again, her eyes rimmed red. Talking about this is pointless, Darion. What I agreed to was just a deal We just take what we need from each other, nothing more. Don’t ask for too much. No matter what you do, we can’t go back to how things were
She turned her head and kept walking forward.
As she turned, tears fell down her face.
Darion Blackburn felt his palm empty, and his heart felt just as hollow.
He followed her steps, not saying a word this time, just walking behind her in silence.
When they got back to the guesthouse, Thalia opened the door, turned to Darion, and said, “You’ve hit your quota for this month, so we shouldn’t stay together anymore. Go book yourself another room.”
With that, she slammed the door shut before he could even say a word.
Darion was speechless.
Her attitude was cold. She really saw their relationship as nothing but a deal.
But they hadn’t even divorced yet.
They were still married.
Darion never saw them as just a transaction.
Everything he did was simply what a husband, what a man in love, would do.
That whole “ten times a month” thing was just something he made up, a way to let her accept his help without feeling guilty.
f he didn’t pretend to want something in return, she would never have agreed.
staring at the closed door, Darion turned around and leaned against the wall, tilting his head back just a little. After a few seconds, he let out a low, rough cough, and suddenly, he coughed up blood.
He pressed his hand to his chest, the sharp pain stabbing at him over and over, refusing to let up.
He booked a room right next to hers. Not long after, there was a knock at the door. He walked over and opened it to find Dax tanding there. carrying a first aid kit.
Darion, are you alright?” Dax asked, his voice full of concern.
Dax looked at him, worry written all over his face.
Darion didn’t say a word, just gestured for him to come in.
Dax hurried inside, and once the door was closed, he said, “When I saw Thalia land that punch on you earlier, I swear I could eel it myself. Those guys were real snakes, ambushing you like that.”
He opened the first aid kit and went on, I brought plenty of meds. Come on, let’s get that wound taken care of.”
Yeah. Darion replied.

He unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a rough bandage wrapped around his chest The wound had only been quickly dressed, and now, spots of blood were already starting to show through.
Dax frowned, looking confused. ‘Darion, why didn’t you tell Thalia?”
“Tell her, just so she gets all tense again after finally relaxing?” Darion lowered his gaze, his voice flat. I’d rather she hates me, blames me, than have her living in fear all the time
Dax let out a helpless sigh. “Great, now she doesn’t just hold it against you. She probably doesn’t trust me anymore either
Darion said, “Just watch over her quietly. She’s not someone who can’t tell right from wrong-she’ll understand eventually
Dax nodded. “Alright, understood.”
