Chapter 606
The helicopter’s rotors hummed overhead, and his words faded into the noise, barely lingering in the air
Thalia’s brows knitted as she fastened the last button, then started getting a feel for the gun’s build and weight.
Thalia gave no reply to him.
Right from the beginning, they’d agreed this was just a transaction.
Since it was just a deal, nothing else should matter.
Whenever Thalia thought about divorce, she couldn’t stop herself from recalling everything that had happened between them.
It wasn’t about letting go just once; every single time he hurt her came flooding back to her mind.
The helicopter was quiet, except for Darion’s suppressed coughs breaking the silence every now and then.
He seemed to be stifling his coughs, almost as if he was afraid of bothering her.
Thalia glanced at him and said, “You don’t have to hold back. If you’re uncomfortable, just cough.”
Darion didn’t say anything. He simply closed his eyes.
The helicopter kept flying for what felt like ages, and Thalia’s ears felt numb from the constant roar. She glanced down and realized they were now soaring above a thick jungle.
She turned to Darion, about to ask him a question, but noticed his face had grown even paler. “Are you okay?” she asked.
Time was tight, and he looked worse for wear.
Thalia couldn’t hold back anymore. She reached out and touched his forehead, and was startled by how hot it was.
Her eyes narrowed in alarm as she quickly moved to his side. “Darion, you’re burning up. Your forehead is feverish. You need a doctor right now. We need to land right here, immediately!”
Darion’s lashes quivered as he opened his eyes. With Thalia right there in front of him, he reached out, brushing her cheek with his fingertips.
‘So it’s not a dream… You actually care about me,” Darion rasped, his voice so rough it made you wince.
Thalia’s chest tightened with a sour ache. She pressed her lips together and said, “We need to land right now and find a doctor. Something’s really wrong with you.”
“Thalia… Darion murmured.
He didn’t respond to her, just stared at her, those dark, almond-shaped eyes brimming with an intoxicating depth of
emotion.
“If…” Darion began, his voice trailing off.
“No ifs!” Thalia interrupted sharply.
Thalia stopped him before he could go on.

Chapter 606
Het expression was unusually serious, her tone harsh. “Darion, do you realize how dire things are right now? Why are you still hung up on things that don’t even matter?
“Staying alive comes first. Only then can you worry about anything else. Your life is on the line, so can you please stop obsessing over these things?”
Thalia was anxious, bordering on desperation. ‘He’s already like this, and he still won’t look after himself she thought
Just then. Thalia caught a strong whiff of medicine coming from him, not the usual scent from cold or fever meds, but more like the sharp smell of antiseptic, the kind you get after treating and bandaging a wound.
Thalia’s brows furrowed as she glanced over him, wanting to check under his clothes to see if he was injured.
