I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 624

Chapter 624

Ryan’s face grew even more conflicted.

He said. “It’s not just Mr. Blackburn’s eyesight that’s gone. His chest wound is getting worse, and he’s still in the ICU under observation.”

Thalia’s heart gave a jolt, and she instinctively gripped the blanket tighter.

She lowered her eyes, her long lashes quivering uncertainly. Then, she threw off the blanket, got out of bed, and walked out Ryan quickly stepped forward to support her. “Mrs. Blackburn, you’re still very weak. You need to rest.”

But Thalia simply gestured toward the hallway, clearly showing she wanted to check on Darion.

Ryan said, “Mr. Blackburn is still in critical condition. No one’s allowed in right now. Let’s just wait outside. Once he’s out of danger, we can see him then.”

Just then, the door to the hospital room swung open.

Dax walked in, his face lighting up with surprise and delight when he saw Thalia awake. “Thalia, you’re awake! Is anything jurting? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

Thalia shook her head, pointed to her throat, and then waved her hand as if to say it was nothing.

Dax stared for a few seconds, then scratched his head awkwardly. “Oh, right, the doctor told me your throat was poisoned and you can’t speak right now. But don’t worry, we’ll definitely find the antidote. You’ll be able to speak again!”

He gently guided her back to the bed and sat her down, speaking earnestly. “Right now, the most important thing is for you o rest and get your strength back. Don’t worry about anything. Everything will be okay.”

Then he pulled out a phone and handed it to her. “Here’s your phone. I charged it up and brought it over for you.”

Thalia took the phone and typed: [Thanks, Dax. I just want to see how Darion is doing.]

Dax read it and let out a helpless sigh. “No one’s allowed in right now. Just wait here. We’re all watching over him. Don’t worry, nothing will go wrong.”

Thalia gripped the phone tightly, then finally nodded, letting him know she understood.

Dax added, “It’s been a few days since you last checked in with Diana. You should let her know you’re safe. Don’t let her worry herself sick back in Oakwood.”

Thalia nodded, feeling a pang of worry for Diana.

But as she thought about her voice, a hint of loneliness lingered in her bright eyes.

She used to be a voice-over artist.

She’d always hoped that once all this was over, if she survived, she could get back to her voice work

But now, with her voice lost and her throat damaged for good, how could she ever return to her passion?

Her eyes stung, but she quickly blinked away the tears, forcing herself to hold it together.

She found Diana’s chat window and sent her a message.
