The doctor adjusted his glasses and said, “There’s not much progress so far. We’ve already contacted some of the world’s leading eye specialists, but we’ll need to wait for their joint consultation before we can discuss a treatment plan.”
He looked at Thalia, trying to comfort her. “Mrs. Blackburn, please don’t worry too much. We’ve already given Mr. Blackburn a special pain relief injection, so his pain should be eased for now.”
Thalia nodded, her face pale.
She stood up and left the doctor’s office.
‘So the pain won’t go away… Thalia thought, worry filling her chest.
That means he must’ve been awake all night yesterday,’ she realized, her concern deepening.
As she recalled her own sadness and restless feelings last night, she finally understood why.
Thalia lowered her eyes and walked forward in silence.
“Mrs, Blackburn.”
Just then, Ryan’s voice came from just ahead.
Thalia glanced up at him, confusion showing on her pale, worried face.
Ryan gave her a troubled look, sighed, and said, “Can we talk?”
Thalia nodded.
They went back to her hospital room.
Ryan got straight to the point. “You were outside the door the whole time, weren’t you?”
Thalia was a little surprised. She’d been so careful, but he still found out.
Ryan gave her a small smile. “Don’t be too surprised. The bodyguard told me. Now that you know about Mr. Blackburn’s condition, can you tell me what you’re thinking?”
Thalia stayed quiet for a moment, then picked up her phone and typed. The robotic voice spoke, “I’ll take care of him until his eyes fully recover.”
Ryan said. “But what if his eyes never get better? I’m not wishing anything bad on Mr. Blackburn, but it’s just the reality You have to understand, eyes are fragile. Right now, his eyes are poisoned, and what if we never find a cure?”
This was a question they both had to face.
Thalia listened to him, her long lashes trembling. After a few seconds, she started typing again. “Then we’ll just spend our lives like this. He can’t see, I can’t speak, so let’s not split up and burden anyone else.”
“Do you… still resent Mr. Blackburn? Ryan hesitated, finally asking the most crucial question.
Thalia was surprised and looked up at him.
When it came to her and Darion’s relationship, everyone else had always kept their distance Only their closest family ever commented.

Ryan cleared his throat and said, “Mrs. Blackburn, I’m Mr. Blackburn’s personal assistant. I’m aware of everything he’s done. and of course, I support him. All this time, he’s been making amends for what happened before. Have you ever had second houghts, even just a little?”
Thalia gave a small smile and started typing. This time, she wasn’t flustered. After a few seconds, the robotic voice spoke
The ups and downs, the sweet and bitter moments, only the two of us really know what our relationship is like. As for what happens next, we’ll deal with it when it comes. Right now, all I care about is that we both get better and make it through”
Ryan listened to the cold, emotionless robotic voice and was left speechless for a while.
Alright, I get it. I won’t say anything else,” Ryan said, nodding. Then he added, “Mr. Blackburn is in his hospital room right now. He’s not letting anyone in. Mrs. Blackburn, do you want to go see him?”
Thalia paused for a moment, then suddenly typed, “Can this poison be recreated?”
Ryan looked at her, puzzled. “Mrs. Blackburn, what exactly do you want to do?”
A cold light flashed in Thalia’s eyes, her whole vibe turning icy and dangerous. “Isn’t it obvious? I want those vicious people o get a taste of their own medicine.”
