Chapter 722 Find Wendy Adkins
Chapter 722 Find Wendy Adkins
Thalia looked nervous, lowering her gaze, really scared that her voice might never
recover.
What will I do then?
Will I still be able to pursue my beloved voice acting career?’ she thought anxiously. After checking the pulse on both hands, Natasha Riley said, “Your body is responding well to my treatment, but your vocal cords are still pretty badly damaged. You’ll need to stick with the therapy for a while longer. Try not to worry too much. You’ll get better.” Natasha looked at her with genuine concern, no pretense at all. Her only goal was to keep Thalia from spiraling into negative thoughts.
Overthinking would only slow down her recovery.
Thalia nodded, deciding to follow Natasha’s advice.
Then Natasha walked over to Darion and said, “Let me examine you.”
Darion, sitting on the couch, responded with a nod.
Natasha carefully removed the bandage, gently lifted Darion’s eyelid, and shone a penlight into his eye.
‘Do you see any light?” she asked.
She watched his pupils closely as she asked.
“No,” Darion replied in a flat tone.
After finishing the eye exam, Natasha also checked Darion’s pulse before putting away the penlight.
After a while, she stood up and said, “Both of you are recovering well, so just be patient and don’t worry too much.”
“Sorry to trouble you, Dr. Riley,” Darion said, his voice cool and a bit distant.
Natasha shot him a look, lips curling in a playful smirk, then turned to Thalia, her eyes sparkling. “Thalia, will you hang out with me today? I’ve never been to Oakwood before, and I have no clue what’s fun or tasty here.”
Darion said, “No.”
Natasha immediately shot back, “Why not? It’s not up to you!”
Then she turned to Thalia, giving her a hopeful look.
Thalia, thinking about how dangerous things were for her right now, typed out a
message on her phone. The phone’s electronic voice sounded cold and mechanical as
it spoke: “It’s safer for me to stay inside. Vera’s people could be watching me, and I

have no idea where they are.”
Natasha slapped her forehead. “Damn, how did I forget about her? Let’s just stick to whatever’s safest. I’ll go out and explore on my own for now.”
Thalia nodded, “Okay.”
Darion said, “Want me to find you a buddy to hang out with?”
Natasha looked at him, confused. “A buddy? Who?”
“Jason Campbell,” Darion replied.
Natasha thought for a moment, then reluctantly agreed. Having a local around would definitely make things easier. “Alright, have him come pick me up.”
After breakfast, Darion handed his phone to Thalia. “The password is our anniversary date. Give Jason a call and ask him to come pick you up.”
Thalia took the phone, her gaze lingering on the lock screen, a photo of the two of them together.
They were standing in a field of flowers, her arms wrapped around his waist while he held up the phone. She was beaming, and Darion had a soft smile as they both looked at the camera, both looking so happy and relaxed.
It was from a trip they took together in college, two years after they started dating.
Her eyes burned a little as she blinked away the emotion, then unlocked the phone and dialed Jason Campbell.
The call kept ringing until it finally hung up on its own.
Jason didn’t pick up.
Darion frowned, about to say something, when suddenly Viola Campbell’s name
flashed on the screen.
Thalia answered the call, and Viola’s serious voice came through. “Darion, that brat’s gone missing. I checked his whereabouts. He took a flight out of Oakwood last night!”
