I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 745

Chapter 745 Karma

The cold, eerie air, the lifeless, pale body, and the muffled sobs all blended together into a sorrowful melody.

Diana was sobbing uncontrollably, her vision blurred by tears.

Thalia stood off to the side, her gaze vacant as she watched everything unfold. Her face looked as pale as the sheet covering the body, and she felt as if an invisible hand was gripping her heart.

Some slow, hesitant footsteps drew near, and someone stopped beside her.

Trenton’s eyes were rimmed red as he looked at her expressionless face, his voice shaking uncontrollably. “Thalia, Dad and Mom truly realize we were wrong…”

Thalia’s long lashes fluttered, her lips pressed into a thin line. She didn’t respond.

Trenton looked heartbroken. “Can you… talk to your mom? She’s been calling your name, missing you so much…”

Thalia slowly turned her head, her eyes calm and unreadable as she looked at him. She opened her mouth, and a raspy, jarring sound came out, like her vocal cords had been torn, rough and piercing.

Trenton’s eyes widened in shock. “What… what happened to your voice?”

Thalia closed her mouth, then pulled out her phone and typed: [Miya poisoned me. My voice is gone. Darion can’t see anymore.]

She kept it brief, nothing more.

Trenton’s body shook violently, his back hunched even further, looking like he could fall over any second.

It was their fault.

They were so wrong, unforgivably wrong.

They chose to favor Miya, showering her with love, while ignoring their own daughter’s feelings, tolerating Miya hurting Thalia over and over again.

All those memories flooded back, and Trenton was consumed by regret. But now, it was too late.

The mistake was irreversible. Shyla never got to hear her daughter’s voice before she died, and all of this was their doing.

What right did he even have to hope for Thalia’s forgiveness?

How could he shamelessly ask her to speak to Shyla?

Trenton buried his face in his hands, his guilt so heavy and thick, like ink that would

never dissolve.

After a long while, Thalia stepped forward and gently took Diana’s arm, giving her a soft shake of the head, urging her to stop crying.

If she kept going like this, her health couldn’t handle much more.

Diana was crying so hard she could barely stand, so Thalia supported her as they left the morgue.

Outside the morgue, Diana sat down on a chair, wiped her tears, and tried to calm herself down.

Thalia typed on her phone: [Grandma, please look after yourself.]

Diana stared ahead, her eyes empty, and let out a sigh. “I really don’t blame her at all. I only blame myself. If I’d noticed something was wrong sooner, if I’d realized that woman was a bad influence on her, maybe things wouldn’t have ended up like this.”

Thalia listened quietly. To Diana, Shyla was her daughter. How could she ever truly be at fault?

The biggest problem between them was that they never really talked, each had their own way of thinking, so Diana just couldn’t bring herself to resent her.

But Thalia just couldn’t empathize with Diana.

She remembered all the things she’d gone through growing up.

She couldn’t find any reason to forgive, or to stop hating.

Thalia bowed her head slightly, quietly listening as Diana went on and on about the old days, sharing stories from Shyla’s childhood.

After a long while, Trenton came out and said, “Mom, I’ve arranged for Shyla’s burial tomorrow. Will you be there?”

Diana nodded. “Yes, I have to say goodbye to her.”

Trenton looked at Thalia, his lips quivering, but he couldn’t bring himself to say a single

word.

Just then, Thalia abruptly stood up and made her way back into the morgue.

Seeing this, Trenton’s expression grew tense. He wanted to follow, but ultimately, he held himself back.

Thalia walked over to Shyla, lifted the white sheet, and carefully examined the lifeless body lying there.

She lay there so peacefully, no longer casting those reproachful glances at her, no longer standing up for her in front of Miya.

With her delicate facade, she had made the most heartless choices time after time, hurting Thalia’s heart again and again.

Thalia couldn’t help but think, ‘If only time could have stopped before I turned ten. Wouldn’t that have been wonderful?’

Back then, you really did love me, didn’t you?’
