Chapter 747 Bitter Cry

The big doll lost its balance and toppled onto the grass, and the little girl nestled right into its arms.

“I love you, Daddy!” Thalia called out in her clear, sweet voice, snuggling up and acting all cute.

The big doll took off its head, revealing a young face with a gentle smile. Darion Blackburn reached out and softly touched Thalia’s cheek. “Happy birthday, Thalia. See? I kept my promise this year. I made it back for your birthday.”

“Yeah, Daddy’s the best!” Thalia nodded enthusiastically.

Thalia nodded hard, then turned to the young woman beside her. “Mom, you’re the best too! I love you guys so much!”

The afternoon sunlight was warm and golden. Gift boxes on the white swing were opened one after another, and a group of young adults gathered around Thalia, their laughter and chatter filling the air.

It was pure happiness, pure warmth.

But everything started to fade, like the curtain falling at the end of a play, until all that was left was black and white. The laughter and happiness slowly faded away.

‘No… no…” Thalia screamed inside, her throat letting out a hoarse, anguished cry.

Darion pulled her into his arms, his voice gentle and comforting.

Thalia stared into the dark room, her eyes vacant and hollow, her sobs wouldn’t stop.

Her vision blurred as her tears broke free like a dam bursting. She couldn’t hold back anymore. She spun around and buried herself in Darion’s arms, crying out loud, her sobs echoing in the room.

She was drowning in grief and sorrow, unable to breathe. Scenes from her past lickered before her eyes, one after another.

Her final memories were nothing but chaos and heartbreak.

Thalia cried for what felt like forever, until she felt like she’d cried herself dry, limp in Darion’s arms with barely any strength left.

The warmth from his body kept flowing into her, driving out the chill deep in her soul. Darion’s big hand rubbed her back, slow and gentle, calming her, bit by bit.

As the first light of dawn crept in, Thalia got up and washed up. When she came downstairs, she found the old lady sitting on the couch, phone in hand, silently hedding tears as she stared at the screen.

“halia walked over and bent down to hug her.

Did you sleep well last night?” the old lady asked.

“halia nodded.

But the old lady just looked at her red, swollen eyes and sighed helplessly.
