Chapter 748 Good Impression
Chapter 748 Good Impression
Dax took the old lady to the cemetery. The funeral began, and Trenton hadn’t invited anyone. Diana stood under a black umbrella, tears silently streaming down her face.
It was snowing lightly. Once everything was over, they left the cemetery.
Dax stayed by the old lady’s side the whole time. Just as they were about to get in the car, he suddenly glanced in a certain direction and saw a black umbrella passing by not far away. Beneath it was a familiar face.
“What’s wrong?” the old lady asked, noticing Dax acting a little strange.
She looked at him, puzzled by his sudden distraction.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Come on, let’s get in the car and head home,” Dax said, shaking his head and gently urging her forward.
Dax thought to himself, ‘Everyone has feelings. How could I just stand by and feel nothing?”
He shook his head, sighed softly, got in the car, and drove away.
Thalia sat in the café, the rich scent of coffee drifting through every corner, making the place feel warmer.
Sebastian watched her gently, concern in his eyes. “Thalia, are you okay?”
Thalia curved her lips into a soft smile and nodded at him.
Sebastian still looked worried. “You don’t seem to be doing well. If you need to vent, I’ m here for you. I can stay with you as long as you want.”
Thalia was a bit surprised, her lashes fluttering slightly. She lowered her eyes to the coffee in front of her, then picked up her phone and typed.
Her phone’s cold, robotic voice said, “I’m really fine, you don’t need to worry about me. But speaking of which, why were you near the cemetery? Weren’t you busy today?”
Sebastian looked at her and said, “I was actually there waiting for you.”
Thalia paused, a little taken aback.
Sebastian continued, “I heard about your mom. Even though we’ve had our ups and downs, I knew you’d want to say goodbye to her one last time. So I took a chance and waited, and sure enough, I was right.”
He gave her a gentle smile. “I know you pretty well, don’t I?”
Thalia’s clear eyes flickered with uncertainty. But when she met his steady, unflinching gaze, she suddenly understood. He was openly showing his affection for her.

Thalia held her phone, hesitated for a moment, then typed, “Thanks for checking on me, Sebastian. I’m feeling much calmer now.”
Sebastian nodded. “That’s good.”
She took a sip of her coffee, the rich aroma lingering on her lips. Setting the cup down, she looked at him, her expression serious.
But Sebastian seemed to know exactly what she was about to say and jumped in first. Don’t try to distance yourself from me. You’re gorgeous and talented. It’s only natural people are drawn to you.
‘I know you’re not divorced yet, but as long as your feelings don’t change, it’s just a matter of time. I’m just making sure I get my spot early.”
He flashed her a confident smile. “That way, nobody else gets to cut ahead.”
Thalia was genuinely amused by his playful banter. Instead of feeling uptight or awkward, she found herself completely at ease.
It was mostly because he always knew how to strike the right balance, never pushing her too hard or making her feel pressured.
