Chapter 762 Maybe They Just Look Alike
The night market was packed, and Thalia couldn’t spot anyone she knew. She stood there, feeling a bit lost.
“Thalia, what’s wrong?” Dax asked, looking at her, clearly confused.
He had no clue why she suddenly seemed so out of it.
Thalia let out a slow breath, then pulled out her phone and typed on it, “I wanted to thank the person who helped me earlier, but I can’t find him.”
Dax shrugged with a smile. “I thought it was something serious. Lots of people help out and don’t want credit. We just need to be genuinely grateful to him.”
“Mm-hmm.”
Thalia nodded.
Just then, Natasha came over, holding some snacks, looking confused. “Why are you all here? I almost couldn’t find you. What happened? Why is that grilled shrimp stall
closed?”
Dax filled her in on what had just happened.
Natasha’s eyes widened a bit. “Wow, with this many people around, someone still had the nerve to stir up trouble? That’s pretty bold.”
Dax shrugged. “Actually, it’s easier to pull something off when there are a lot of people. There’s an alley right behind us. Once they get what they want, they can just blend into the crowd and disappear.”
Natasha frowned. “Looks like the security here isn’t great.”
Dax grinned. “Alright, don’t worry about it. It’s all sorted now. You guys go find somewhere to eat. I’ll stick close by this time, won’t wander off.”
“Okay, okay.”
Natasha nodded, then casually stuffed one of the snacks into Thalia’s hand.
“Hey Thalia, try this,” Natasha said.
Back at Rosewood Manor, Thalia was totally distracted, her mind wandering the whole time.
Even while she was showering and doing her skincare routine, she couldn’t help but think about the guy she saw earlier today.
‘But that’s impossible, isn’t it?’ Thalia wondered.
Emely had been dead for four years now.
Chapter 762 Maybe They Just Look Alike
The plane crashed into the ocean, and the Blackburn family kept sending people to search for him. They managed to recover his luggage and documents, but never found his body. That area was crawling with sharks, so there probably wasn’t even a trace of him left.
There was no doubt he was gone.
So, that guy was probably just someone who happened to look like Emely.
After all, if he were still alive, there’s no way he wouldn’t come back for his family.
If he came back, he’d realize he had a son. His boy would be almost four now.
His parents missed him so much.
“Thalia,” Darion’s deep voice came from the doorway, pulling her out of her thoughts.
“Yeah,” she responded.
Darion asked, “Do you need any help? You’ve been in there for a while.”
Thalia paused for a moment, then typed on her phone, “Are you really here to help, or do you just have something else in mind?”
“How could you say that?” Darion replied, sounding a bit wounded. “We’re married. Of course I have thoughts about you. That’s not being sneaky, that’s just what any husband would do.”
