Chapter 766 Determined To Leave
Thalia’s heart sank at Diana’s words. She frowned, gripping Diana’s hand tightly, and said, emphasizing each word, “Don’t… Say… Things… Like… That.”
Diana smiled gently, stroking Thalia’s hair with a calm, accepting look. “I’ve already come to terms with everything. My life may not have been perfect, but it was certainly eventful.
“Life threw everything at me, and it was worth living. We all have to face goodbyes with acceptance. It’s just part of being human.”
Thalia simply buried herself in Diana’s embrace, not wanting to hear any more.
Diana didn’t say anything else. She just kept gently stroking Thalia’s hair, just like those peaceful afternoons from Thalia’s childhood.
Diana was determined to return to her hometown, and Thalia didn’t try to stop her. She told Darion about it.
Darion said, “I’ll have people protecting Diana in secret, twenty-four seven. Don’t worry.”
Thalia nodded and said, “Thank you. Thank you.”
Darion started pushing his luck again, “Is that all I get? Just a thank you?”
Thalia’s clear eyes were cold as she looked at him, typing on her phone, “We’re still married. My grandmother is your grandmother too. Isn’t that what you should do?” Darion laughed at Thalia’s words and nodded. “That’s right, Thalia. What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is yours.”
Darion was utterly lost in the feeling of being so connected to her. Even when all they did was talk, with nothing else happening between them, he felt a joy that filled him from the inside out, a happiness that came straight from his soul.
Thalia wanted to take Diana home herself. The weather was gorgeous, and Diana didn’ t need to pack anything. She could just buy whatever she needed once she got there.
Diana said, “Why don’t you stay here and take care of Darion? I’ll be fine going back on my own.”
But Thalia shook her head and typed, “No way. I’m taking you home and making sure you’re settled in before I come back. I’ll only be gone a day or two. He’ll survive.”
Darion nodded from the side. “Diana, just go along with her. If you leave without her, she’ll end up crying, and I won’t be able to calm her down.”
Diana gave a helpless smile. “Alright, Darion. Be careful at home, okay? If anything comes up, just call Thalia.”
“Of course, I will,” Darion said, reassuringly.
Chapter 766 Determined To Leave
Darion nodded, his manner humble and gentle.
They got in the car and drove straight to the train station.
Diana was getting older, and flying was just too much for her, so they opted for the train instead.
When they arrived at the train station, they spotted Bonnie Curtis waiting by the
entrance.
“Grandma!” Bonnie called out.
Bonnie Curtis had heard Diana was leaving, so she took time off work to come see her off in person.
