I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 769

Chapter 769 Cut Off His Little Finger

The atmosphere inside the old villa was warm and harmonious. Thalia felt a sense of ease she had never experienced before, as if she had stumbled upon a hidden paradise.

After dinner, she went out for a walk. The neighborhood was designed with seasonal landscapes in mind. It was already winter, and the New Year was just around the corner. Plum blossoms were in full bloom on the branches, looking especially delicate and beautiful from afar.

The bodyguards arranged by Darion Blackburn were all in position, and their team leader was introduced to Thalia.

“Mrs. Blackburn, my name is Caleb. Let’s exchange contact info so I can notify you right away if anything comes up,” Caleb said, pulling out his phone with a serious look. Thalia nodded and exchanged contact details with him. She then asked about his shift schedule, and Caleb answered each of her questions.

The evening breeze carried a faint chill. Thalia pulled her scarf tighter around her neck, said while typing on her phone, “You go ahead, I’ll take a stroll by myself for a while.”

Caleb nodded. “Yes, Mrs. Blackburn.”

His figure quickly disappeared into the shadows, impossible to spot.

Thalia felt reassured by this arrangement.

She pulled out her phone and texted Darion Blackburn.

Thalia: [Thanks.]

His phone had a screen-reading app installed, so he could manage things on his own,

check messages and emails, but it took him a while to reply.

But now, he could use the screen reader to send voice replies.

Thalia tapped on the voice message he sent.

His deep, gentle voice came through. “What are you thanking me for?”

Thalia’s graceful fingers danced across the screen as she typed out her reply.

Thalia: [Thanks for taking such good care of Diana.]

Darion’s soft chuckle came through. “Didn’t I say? What’s yours is mine now.”

His tone softened, carrying a tender, lingering affection, more intoxicating than the fruit wine tonight.

She tapped his voice message again, listened quietly for a while, then put her phone away and continued strolling through the neighborhood.

Darion had been waiting for her reply, but she still hadn’t responded. His brow furrowed in frustration.

Just then, there was a knock at the door and Ryan walked in. “Mr. Blackburn, Mr. Clark replied to your email. He said if you keep making things difficult for him, he wouldn’t mind getting rid of the biggest troublemaker first.”

Darion let out a cold laugh. “Threatening me? Looks like he really doesn’t want to work with me anymore. Put out a bounty. Make sure he doesn’t see another day.”

Ryan nodded. “Yes, Mr. Blackburn.”

Across the ocean, Quinn had just been ambushed. He climbed into the helicopter, disheveled and shaken, the whirring of the rotors nearly deafening him. Below, the sound of gunfire still echoed.

His blue eyes flashed with ruthless determination as he pressed a hand to his stomach wound, while a doctor worked frantically to treat him.

He closed his eyes, his ragged breathing slowly calming. Then he grabbed his phone, dialed a number, and said, “Cut off his little finger and send it straight to Darion Blackburn.”

A cruel, almost deranged grin twisted across Quinn’s face. “I’m sure he’ll appreciate this gift.”
