Chapter 774 Stained
“Hey, what are you doing?” Wendy’s voice was sharp as she frowned at them.
Wendy’s brows furrowed as she stared at them.
The maid said flatly, “You’re not allowed in here.”
Wendy looked ahead. There was a small path with flowers and greenery on both sides, still part of the garden.
She said, “What if I insist on going in?”
The maid blocked her way. “Mr. Clark’s orders. You’re not allowed in.”
The more they told her not to go in, the more Wendy wanted to check it out for herself.
She marched right in, pushing the maid out of her way.
The two maids were stunned, their expressions finally changing. They hurried to pull Wendy back, trying to stop her from going inside.
For Wendy, this little incident finally brought some excitement to her otherwise boring days.
The whole castle was already her cage, but now there was a place inside it that was off-limits even to her.
Why won’t they let me in?
Are they hiding some secret in there?
If I could uncover that secret, maybe I could use it to force Quinn to let me go,’ she mused.
Wendy’s face showed a spark of excitement. “Let`go of me! Who gave you permission to touch me?”
She yelled, and the two maids instantly froze, not daring to touch her again.
They all knew how much Quinn treasured this woman. If she went and tattled to him, they’d probably get tossed to the sharks.
But Quinn had made it clear she wasn’t allowed in here, and now she was determined to go in anyway. So what were they supposed to do now?
“Go, hurry, tell Mr. Clark!” one of the maids urged.
She rushed off toward the castle, leaving the other maid behind, anxiously keeping an eye on Wendy.
With no one stopping her, Wendy walked down the path. The deeper she went, the more sparse the flowers became, until she was surrounded only by trees.
At the end of the path was just an ordinary gazebo, nothing remarkable about it.
Chapter 4 Stained
‘Huh?
‘Where did that bodyguard disappear to?’ she wondered.
She started wandering around the edge of the woods.
“Baby, what are you looking for?”
Before she could find anything, a laid-back voice drifted over from behind her.
Wendy froze, then turned to see Quinn walking over, unhurried. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her hard.
“What are you looking for? Just tell me, and I’ll help you find it, okay?” Quinn’s blue eyes sparkled with a faint smile as he watched Wendy’s face tense up with nerves.
‘God, she’s adorable.
‘She’s mine.
‘My precious girl, he added in his heart.
Wendy stiffened up, every inch of her screaming resistance to his touch. She shoved at him hard. “Let go of me!”
“No way,” Quinn said, shaking his head. Instead of letting go, he just hugged her even tighter.
“I just want to stick with you, baby. Honestly, if I could crawl inside you and stay there forever, I totally would. Would you let me?” Quinn grinned, his voice low and teasing. Wendy lifted her hand and went straight for his face, ready to slap him.
Quinn didn’t even try to dodge. He leaned in closer, almost inviting the slap, his blue eyes squinting playfully. “Careful, baby, you might hurt your hand.”
Her hand hovered awkwardly in the air, torn between smacking him and holding back. The whole thing was driving her crazy.
Quinn just laughed, looking way too pleased with himself. “Baby, you’re not gonna hit me anymore? What, are you catching feelings for me? Can’t bring yourself to smack me now?”
Wendy let out a cold laugh. “If I hit you, I just don’t wanna dirty my hands on you.”
“So what are you gonna do about it?” Quinn teased, pulling her into his arms, kissing her, and nuzzling against her. “I’ve already marked you, inside and out, from head to
toe.”
