I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 83

Chapter 83

Helen didn’t answer She simply looked at him.

“She’s my brother’s wife,” Darion said abruptly, straightening in his seat.

His handsome face had darkened with displeasure. “Thalia misunderstanding me is one thing. But you too?”

NS youonaire

Helen sighed. “Darion, maybe you don’t have that kind of intention. But that doesn’t mean others don’t. You see each other so often. Sooner or later, people start talking.”

“That’s not going to happen.” Darion cut in firmly, his voice turning cold. “Miya loved Emely. I saw how close they were. There’s no way she’d like me.”

Helen’s expression cooled further. “So after all that, you still won’t send her away?”

Darion’s brows drew together. He lowered his gaze and remained silent for a moment before finally saying, “Let me think about it.”

Helen nodded once. “Fine. Think it over.” Her tone turned dry. “By the time you do, your wife might already be gone.”

With that, she stood and headed upstairs.

Darion leaned back against the armrest, pressing his fingers to his brow. The irritation between his brows lingered, heavy and unresolved.

The ginger soup Thalia had prepared the night before did the trick. She woke up without so much as a sniffle, her voice as clear as ever. After a glass of honey water, she grabbed breakfast and headed to the office.

Her car was in the shop, which meant ride-hailing for the foreseeable future.

The moment she walked in and spotted Miya at her desk, her brow furrowed.

‘So Helen and Darion couldn’t make a deal after all, she thought. ‘Which means I’m stuck under the same roof with her from now on? Just my luck.

Still, the day turned out to be hectic enough to keep her mind off it.

Yesterday was spent familiarizing herself with the script and the original film, so by today. Wesley was already calling a meeting to kick off the dubbing process.

She’d been holed up in the recording studio the entire day. When she finally emerged, Wesley was still beside her, walking through the adjustments she’d need to make.

Thalia was listening so intently that she wasn’t watching where she was going.

At some point, Wesley’s voice trailed off. Looking up, she spotted Darion up ahead, tall, sharp-featured, effortlessly elegant, deep in conversation with Miya.

Miya caught her gaze and smiled. “Oh, Lia’s out. I’d better get going.”

“I’ll drive you,” Darion offered.

Miya shook her head lightly. “Don’t bother. I’m heading to grab a toy for Keith. Not exactly on your way.”

Chapter 83

Darion didn’t press the matter Instead, his gaze shifted to Thalia, those deep-set eyes fixed on her “I came to pick you up from work.” he said simply

Thalia felt a wave of irritation wash over her. She turned to Wesley instead. “Mr. Chase, anything else needs my attention?”

Wesley could clearly sense the tension crackling between them, and he had zero interest in getting caught in the middle

He shook his head quickly. “No, that’s it for today. Go ahead and clock out.”

With that, he turned and made himself scarce.

Thalia clutched the script to her chest and started walking toward her workstation.

Darion followed, lingering by her desk as she busied herself with tidying up.

“What would you like for dinner?” he asked.

“Fresh air,” she replied flatly.
