Does she really care about me? Thalia thought, rolling the question in her mind. ‘I guess it depends on who she’s comparing
me to
Compared to Miya, it was clear who Helen would choose. And now that Thalia was pushing for a divorce, it was only natural that Helen would focus on the daughter-in-law she preferred.
Thalia only hoped that Helen would get what she wanted.
The next day, Thalia was feeling better and went to work as usual.
When she arrived at the office, she noticed Miya wearing a mask, looking like she had a cold. But Thalia could tell right away that Miya was doing this on purpose to draw attention.
Sure enough, someone walked over to check on her. “Miya, are you okay? Did you catch a cold? Why are you wearing a mask?”
Miya shook her head and replied, “No, I’m fine. I just accidentally hurt my face. I’m wearing the mask so I don’t scare anyone.”
The person was even more curious now. “How did you hurt your face? Let me see how bad it is. If it’s serious, maybe you should go to the hospital.”
Before Miya could answer, the person gently pulled the mask off her face and gasped, “Oh my god, did someone hit you? Your face is so swollen!”
At that moment, more people turned to look at her.
Miya hurriedly put her mask back on, instinctively glancing at Thalia. “I’m fine, really. No one hit me. You should all get back to work. I have to head to the recording studio.”
Her glance was so well-timed that everyone, without thinking, turned their eyes toward Thalia.
The rumors about their falling out had already been circulating in the office. It didn’t take long for everyone to guess that Thalia was the one who had hit Miya.
Miya, who was always treating people to coffee and sweets, had built up a lot of goodwill, so now some people were starting to side with her and looked at Thalia with disapproval.
Thalia was reading her script when a girl walked past and, in a sudden sway, spilled her coffee all over it.
“Oops, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to!” the girl rushed to apologize, quickly attempting to wipe the coffee off the pages.
But the more she tried, the messier it got, and soon enough, several pages of the script were ruined beyond repair.
Thalia frowned. “It’s fine. I’ll handle it.
The girl, still flustered, asked, “So, do you forgive me now? I really didn’t mean to.”
Thalia glanced at her coolly. “No, I don’t. You made a mistake, and you should apologize.”
The girl’s expression shifted, now visibly irritated. “What’s your problem? I apologized already, didn’t I? What more do you want from me?”

Her words caught the attention of others nearby, and soon a few people chimed in.
“Thalia, come on, don’t be so hard on her. She already apologized. Why keep pushing?”
“Yeah, seriously, you’re taking this way too far. We’re all in the same office, you know?”

Thalia took a slow look around, then crossed her arms and looked the person squarely in the eyes. “If you really want me to forgive you, you can start by bowing your head.”
