Chapter 98
Daron ended the call abruptly, then flipped over, pinning Thalia beneath him.
“I swear. I could strangle you right now,” he growled, his eyes blazing with anger.
Thalia blinked, a bit surprised, but she quickly regained her composure. She hadn’t expected him to find out about the ring auction so soon, especially like this.
She met his gaze coolly, her voice even. “Our marriage was already over. The ring was just a symbol of something that doesn’t exist anymore. While it still has value, I figured I should sell it now.”
Darion’s jaw tightened, and his voice deepened with anger. “That ring was a gift. You can’t just sell it without even telling me.”
Thalia raised an eyebrow, unbothered. “Once you gave it to me, it became mine. I have every right to do with it as I please.” She stared at him. “It’s just a ring. Why are you acting like I tossed your kid out with the trash?”
She smirked slightly. “Oh wait, you can’t have kids anyway.”
The room felt heavier, the tension thick between them. Neither of them moved, both refusing to back down.
In her eyes was nothing but indifference, tinged with mockery. His, however, were filled with fury.
That ring wasn’t just a piece of jewelry. It was a reminder of their eight years together, and now, she had sold it.
Darion suddenly stood up and stormed out of the room, leaving the bed cold in his wake.
The blankets were tossed aside, and a chill rushed in, making Thalia shiver as if the cold had pierced right through her.
She quickly pulled the blanket back up, wrapping herself tightly, trying to hold onto whatever warmth remained. But it was pointless. Without him beside her, the warmth faded fast.
Staring out the window at the darkening sky, Thalia found herself thinking. If this house had been left to her, she would’ve sold it too.
She would’ve erased every trace of him, wiped him out of her life completely. It would’ve been the easiest way to move on.
After she lay there for a while, hunger gnawed at her, so she got up and headed downstairs, planning to grab a bite to eat.
But as she entered the living room, she was hit with the faint smell of food.\
She looked over to the dining table, where a spread of her favorite dishes sat.
Thalia paused, her expression turning conflicted. She had expected him to leave in a fit of rage, not come back to make dinner.
But she didn’t hesitate. She sat down and began eating.
The food helped her feel a little better, and once she was done, she left without a second thought.
When she got home, her phone rang. It was Helen.
“Hey, Helen, she answered.
Helen’s voice was light. “Thalia, did you introduce Ms. Brown to Darion today?”

“Yeah Thalia said, her voice tired “I had her take the job as his secretary If she can win him over, it’s all on her
Helens tone shifted, becoming more serious. “Doesn’t that bother you’
Thalia lowered her gaze for a moment, silence stretching between them. After a few seconds, she said softly. “I just want a divorce
Helen sighed softly. “Well, things have reached a point of no return. There’s nothing left to do but move forward By the way, Darion won’t let Miya leave the company, and there’s not much I can do about it.
