Up in the one-bedroom apartment at Solstice Heights.
The moment Sienna pushed the door open, the first thing that caught her eye was the massive south-facing floor-to-ceiling window.
She could easily imagine the entire living room bathed in golden sunlight during the day.
The balcony was an oasis of greenery—monsteras, fiddle-leaf figs, and an array of succulents. Dozens of potted plants filled the air with the grounding scent of fresh soil and leaves.
Sienna turned back toward the living room. The cream-colored sofa, the buttery-yellow curtains, the clean, minimalist lines devoid of any clashing colors.
The reality of the space was even more perfect than the photos. It was exactly what she envisioned for her ideal sanctuary.
Lawrence stood by the doorway, quietly observing her every micro-expression before speaking up at just the right moment.
"What do you think, miss?"
"It's too expensive," Sienna replied, expertly masking any hint of infatuation. "It needs to be cheaper."
Lawrence's smile faltered, replaced by a perfectly practiced look of reluctance.
"This is already my rock-bottom price. If I wasn't being transferred overseas for work immediately, I'd never agree to list it this low."
Sienna didn't take the bait. She wandered into the kitchen to inspect the cabinets, then checked the bathroom.
She came back to the living room and sat down.
"One thousand two hundred. If you can do that, I'll sign right now."
Lawrence's face visibly dropped.
"Absolutely not! You're slashing the price way too much. Look at these renovations. Look at this furniture! There is no way I can do twelve hundred."
"I've seen it all," Sienna replied calmly. "Which is exactly why I'm offering twelve hundred."
Lawrence opened his mouth to argue.
"I live alone. I have a stable job. If anything minor goes wrong with the apartment, I won't bother you. You're renting this out because you want a hassle-free tenant, right?" Sienna leveled a confident gaze at him. "More importantly, I'll sign a one-year lease. People move in and out of Metropolis constantly. Very few are willing to lock in for a whole year. This location is a bit out of the way, so you'll have a hard time finding someone more reliable than me."
Lawrence hesitated.
"I need to discuss this with my son. This place was originally supposed to be his starter home for when he gets married, but he thought it was too far from the city center and insisted on living downtown. I really have no choice."
"Go ahead and call him." Sienna leaned back against the sofa. "I'll wait."
Lawrence pulled out his phone, stepped out onto the balcony, and dialed a number.
