Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 728

“Stop!” Tatum tried to keep his cool, forcing a steady tone into his voice. “Felix, I know you’re just trying to scare me. You risked your life to save Ms. Sadinton, so there’s no way you’d actually—”

Felix cut him off with a lazy smirk. “Is that right? Want to bet on it?”

He flicked off the safety on his gun. The click echoed, and Tatum blanched.

“Wait! Don’t, please!”

He wasn’t about to take that risk. If Felix pulled the trigger, it wouldn’t just be Amelia who paid the price—his whole family would be done for.

Amelia played along, putting on a perfect show of fear.

Felix’s voice turned ice cold. “Out of the way. Now.”

Tatum yelled, “Move! Everyone, move!”

Felix kept Amelia in front of him, backing them both into the cave. When they hit the corner, Felix barked, “Not one step closer. Stay right there and count to fifty. If you rush it, if you miss even one number, I swear I’ll put a bullet in Amelia’s head.”

Amelia shouted, “Don’t come any closer! He’ll really do it! Felix is ruthless!”

She heard Felix chuckle softly behind her.

His breath was warm at her ear as he whispered, just for her, “Don’t worry. I’ll come back for you.”

Felix kept moving back, using the curve of the tunnel for cover, and left Amelia in plain view for Tatum’s group.

One of the men glared at Amelia and muttered, “Boss, she keeps running. Why not just break her legs—”

He didn’t even get the words out before Tatum slapped him across the face.

“If she gets so much as a bruise, you and your whole family are finished. Got it?”

The guy rubbed his cheek, angry but silent. “Boss, what’s so special about her? Why are we treating her like royalty? You broke the ceasefire, stormed the village, and now every other group on the island is pissed at us.”

“You have no idea,” Tatum said with a scoff, puffing on his cigar and squinting out toward the mainland. “I’ve been dying to get off this hellhole for years. Keep Amelia here for three days. That’s all it takes. Three days, and we’ll finally get new identities, a clean slate. We won’t have to hide anymore. We’ll get to see the world like normal people.”

Nobody but Ryan could pull off something like that—wipe their slates clean and give them a real future.
