Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 729

The private helipad on top of Alson Creek Hospital.

A sleek, luxurious jet touched down, the Morris family crest shining on its side.

Aaron stepped off the plane and spotted Juan, his newly appointed senior assistant, already waiting for him.

While Aaron had been in Switzerland on business, he’d left Juan in charge at the hospital, trusting him to handle anything Ryan needed, no matter how big or small.

“Mr. Morris.” Juan walked over quickly. He wore a sharp black suit and tie, every inch looking like he meant business.

Aaron paused, his tall frame tense. He had a bad feeling. He tried to speak but nothing came out right away.

Juan seemed to know exactly what was on his mind. He bowed his head, voice low. “After the surgery, Mr. Packman had some serious complications. He’s in ICU now. Francisco is outside with him, but… things don’t look good. Dr. Wilson said we should be prepared for the worst.”

Aaron clenched his jaw, trying to hold himself together. “Take me to him.”

He had to see Ryan with his own eyes.

Juan led him to the ICU. Francisco was right outside the door, looking rough—red eyes, huge shadows underneath, like he hadn’t slept in days.

“Mr. Morris.” Francisco gave a tired nod.

Aaron put a hand on his shoulder. “Go get some rest. I’ll go in and see him.”

Francisco forced a weak smile. “Before he went into surgery, Mr. Packman said you’d come back before he was gone. He really knows you.”

The words “before he was gone” hit Aaron hard. He pressed his lips together but said nothing.

Before he could go in, Aaron had to go through the full disinfection routine and pull on protective gear.

When he finally walked into Ryan’s room, he almost didn’t recognize the man lying there—so pale and fragile, hooked up to a ventilator, barely clinging to life.

The Ryan he remembered was brilliant, cold, and ruthless—a force of nature.

“Ryan,” Aaron’s voice was quiet, but he couldn’t hide the shake in it.

Ryan was too weak to open his eyes, but Aaron saw the heart monitor spike a little. He knew Ryan heard him.

“Hang in there,” Aaron whispered. “Ryan, without you around, life is just boring. You’re not the type to leave early. Monsters like you are supposed to live forever.”

Ryan’s eyelashes fluttered.

Aaron leaned closer. “Don’t forget, Amelia’s still out there, trying to bring back the Yingcao to save you. You love her so much. Are you really going to leave without seeing her one last time?”
