Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 730

Alson Creek

Clive straightened his tie in the mirror, then headed downstairs. Timmy and Penny were already at the kitchen table, eating breakfast quietly with the nanny looking after them.

Clive sat down across from them.

“Daddy,” Penny called out, her voice sugary sweet. “Can I have a little more milk? Just half a glass?”

“Of course, sweetheart.” Clive poured her a bit more milk.

“Thank you, Daddy!” Penny drank it all in a few big gulps and then carefully wiped her mouth with a napkin.

The nanny watched this with a smile and couldn’t help but say, “Miss Penny has really changed lately.”

She’d been with the family for years, ever since she came over from the old Salmeron house to help after Clive and Amelia divorced. Back then, Penny was a handful—spoiled and a total mini-Caroline. The nanny had spent plenty of time pulling her hair out. But now, the difference in her was night and day—so much more polite and thoughtful.

Clive knew it was all thanks to Amelia.

He spaced out for a second, thinking—if Amelia hadn’t spent those five years in a coma, both Timmy and Penny would’ve turned out just this way under her guidance...

“Dad?” Timmy’s voice snapped him out of it.

“Hmm?” Clive looked over, his expression softening. “What’s up, buddy?”

“When is Mom coming home?” Timmy’s little face was serious. “She said she went abroad for a secret project, but I checked her location—there was a signal before, but it’s completely gone now.”

Clive looked surprised. “Wait, you can track your mom?”

Timmy nodded. “She ran into trouble once, so I put a locator app on her phone. Only I can see it. But now, no signal. The last ping was some place called Gwenny Island.”

He frowned. “Dad, I looked it up—there’s no research base or anything out there. Why would Mom go to Gwenny Island?”

Penny blinked her big eyes, not really following but echoing anyway, “Yeah, Daddy, why?”

Clive hesitated for just a second. He almost forgot there was no pulling the wool over Timmy’s eyes—the kid was a genius.

“It’s just a connecting airport. Your mom probably had a layover,” Clive explained calmly. “She’s working on something big, so everyone’s comms get collected for security. But trust me, your mom will be home soon.”

Timmy thought about this, then nodded. “That makes sense.”

Clive quietly let out a breath and shifted gears. “Right, finish up your fruit and pack your lunchboxes. I’m driving you to school today.”

Once the fruit was gone, Timmy and Penny slipped off their chairs and started getting their school bags ready.

Penny took her lunch from the nanny and gave her a sweet, “Thank you.”

She was so cute and polite now—like a porcelain doll. Clive felt a warm pride in his chest.
