Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 742

Just as he was struggling for words, Kit’s call came through. Felix didn’t hesitate, snatching at his phone like it was a lifeline. “Kit," he answered quickly.

Kit’s voice came from the other end, but Felix barely listened. His eyes went to Amelia. “She’s really not doing well. Give me a bit. I’ll take care of things here.”

He ended the call, turning his attention back to Amelia, conveniently finding himself a work excuse. “There’s something for work, but we’ll wait until you’re feeling better to deal with it.”

Amelia nodded, a dull and automatic motion, her expression blank. She didn’t argue.

The silence in the room stretched on, heavy and awkward.

Felix watched her, noticing just how fragile she looked. He let out a soft sigh. “Are you hungry? Is there anything you feel like eating?”

Amelia shook her head, voice barely above a whisper. “I can’t eat.”

Felix’s brow furrowed. He headed for the door. “I’ll go make you something easy to digest. Even if you don’t want it, you’re going to have to eat a little. For me.”

He wasn’t great at comforting women—he barely made it out the door before running a frustrated hand through his hair, wondering if he’d sounded too harsh.

A nurse was waiting outside. As Felix left, she stepped in, taking over. No matter what, Amelia couldn’t be left alone right now.

Amelia stood at the window for a long time, staring at nothing. The nurse quietly approached her. “Ms. Sadinton, maybe you’d like to sit and rest for a bit?”

There was no answer. The nurse wisely decided not to push it.

Not long after, there was a knock at the door. The nurse went to open it and paused, surprised by the frail, elderly man outside.

“Who are you looking for?” she asked gently.

Anthony’s lips trembled as he spoke, every syllable a struggle. “I’m... looking for my daughter...”

Through the reflection in the window, Amelia saw someone walking toward her. She felt her body go tense, then slowly relax. She turned around to face him—an unfamiliar face, but those clouded, tear-filled eyes belonged to her father.

“Amelia,” Anthony called, his voice shaky and unsure.

Amelia’s eyes gradually came into focus, landing on her father’s face. Anthony knew what had happened to her. These past days, after receiving treatment, pieces of his memory were coming back. He finally understood so much more.
