Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 748

On the other end of the line, Caroline couldn't believe her ears.

"Clive! I'm your own flesh and blood, how can you take Amelia's side?!"

Clive took a deep, steadying breath. "If you weren't my sister, do you think I would have even made the trip today? Listen to me—this is as far as I can help you. If Amelia insists on pressing charges, I'll hire the best lawyers for you."

With that, ignoring Caroline's hysterical screaming, Clive hung up the phone.

Caroline tried calling back, but Clive refused to answer.

"Ahhh!" Caroline shrieked, driven mad by rage. She swept everything off her vanity with one violent motion, sending an array of expensive glass bottles and jars shattering across the floor.

Tracking her heavy breaths, Caroline stared at her disheveled reflection in the mirror. Suddenly, she noticed a cluster of red bumps on her neck.

She pulled down her collar, realizing that the minor rash from a few days ago had spread significantly and was now fiercely itchy.

In her frustration, Caroline scratched at her neck hard, drawing angry red streaks of blood.

"What the hell is going on? This is so annoying!"

Just then, a maid appeared at the doorway, trembling.

"M-Ms. Salmeron..."

Staring at the wreckage on the floor, the maid was too terrified to step inside.

Caroline glared at her through the mirror, her eyes filled with impatience. "What are you standing there for?! Are you here to laugh at me?"

This penthouse was one of Clive's properties. After returning to the city, Caroline had grown tired of Mrs. Salmeron's nagging and temporarily moved in here. The maid had been reassigned from the Salmeron family estate to serve her.

However, the moment she saw the woman standing on the doorstep, the excited smile vanished from her face.

"What are you doing here?" Caroline demanded, coldly sizing Liana up. Liana was dressed entirely in a style that mimicked that bitch Amelia. The two already looked alike, but dressed like this, they were practically carbon copies!

Caroline was already furious and needed a target.

Liana acted as though she didn't notice the hostility at all. She stepped inside, her peripheral vision briefly catching the security camera tucked in the corner of the ceiling.

"Caroline, I made some chicken soup for you," Liana said, turning to her with a gentle, fawning smile as she offered up an insulated thermos.

Caroline slapped the thermos out of Liana's hands. The container hit the floor, spilling rich, fragrant broth everywhere.

"Who wants your cheap trash?" Caroline sneered. "Did you think climbing into my brother's bed would make you my sister-in-law? A tramp like you isn't even fit to touch the doormat of the Salmeron household!"
